Anyone from out of state been riding in VT?

I’ve heard that there is a travel ban exemption for being there for less than 24hrs but do not see anything about that online.

I’ve filled out the Attestation form, and obviously am not going to blatantly violate that, but going for the day and wearing a mask the entire time doesn’t seem like it would be an issue.

I work in the industry, and we have 2 locations in VT at major resorts. Rules require quarrentine before going skiing. You must fill out a waiver saying you have followed all legal requirements.

I have spoken with higher ranking people who have said they are not the police, they will not be investigating anything. If you do the form, that's all they care about, or can do. These are private business's that know a very small percentage of their customers actually live in VT, and can legally support the mtn.

I have driven in/out of VT as part of work and skied while there (but that was legal as part of work)

I have several friends who have gone to 2nd homes in VT and skied, or day tripped in and skied with no issues.

Thats the legal, and whats actually happening.

I'm hoping to try out Cannon this year, grown up skiing Sugarloaf and someday bigger, along with Killington and Okemo off and on for a few years. I'm hoping that Big Squaw is able to survive this pandemic crap... it's a great mountain. Same goes for Saddleback as well.

We have a wicked ice storm going on. It’s litterly put down a 1/4” of ice in a hour and a half in the Laurel Highlands!

I did get 9 runs in, but it’s time to go!

    That looks pretty bad.

Went up to Jiminy in MA last night for some after work skiing.
I had had a light drizzle the night before at my house 1.5 hrs away, but nothing crazy. Turns out it poured there, then temps dropped. I have a racing history, and enjoy carving on firm trails. This was not fun it was so firm.

I’m planing to get up and give it a go tomorrow too. I’ll stay out till my pants give up on holding out the water. My gore-Tex shell is pretty bomber and fits over my helmet. So it stays nice in there!

Supposedly getting 10 inches of the white stuff tomorrow up here near sugarloaf. Going to try and get some runs in on Sunday before I have to go to work.

Just went to mount snow two days ago had to drive there and back from CT to avoid any restrictions. But was pretty good no powder and mostly man made snow. Can’t believe how little snow we’ve gotten this year

Vail Colorado. Not a bad way to spend New Year’s Day. Gotta say they are hurting for snow too, but sure beats the rain y’all talking about.

Got some turns in today at sugarloaf. Their new pass system is hit or miss, and things got bumped up really quickly today. Best skiing was definitely side of the trail finding powder stashes. Got about 5-6 inches at the base of the mountain, no idea what they're claiming overall. 84C3250D-0C7A-4F73-9F64-2BD4A27039BA.jpg

They expanded the back country across the mountain next to sugarloaf, lots of opportunity, but gotta wait for a lot more snow.

Hinter mtn did not open today, and already announced closed tomarrow due to "covid related issues."

It is known that it is ski patrol related. A friend was recently layed off as head of marketing there and said the word is to many patrolers are positive to have enough to open.

Have also heard it is strike related, but not from anybody I know has connections to the mtn.

Sorry my North East brethren but got some great turns at The Canyons today in Utah, 6 inches of fresh.

Read about the Hunter shit, I wonder what they are planning to do for season pass holders? Hoping they have it sorted before we get back.

Hopefully better than sugarloaf treated their passholders when they shut down last year. Essentially "sucks doesn't it?" And that was it.

Looks good. I’ve never skied further North than Holiday Valley. My best friend lives in Colorado so I’ve been out there several times. I’d like to get to Killingtin and the other spots. Mad River Glen!’

I heard about that too. It’s circulating to help people realize we can be shut down and to wear our masks in line and in public areas! I heard it spread through the Ski Patrol

So it is covid related, but the patrol is not sick.
They have gone on strike. They are tired of being forced to be the covid police while also having to take care of all their other normal patrol duties. Throw in that Vail as a company does not give a shit about their employees(they stripped lots b of employee privileges) and here we are.

Vail resorts is playing it off as employees are sick. They are not, they are on strike.
