The fist two are my preference as they provide really good cheek weld.

I have the str, I had the Magpul ACS stock which is similar in built size but I liked the STR better. I'm debating if I want to change it out to a sopmod enhanced stock.

What rifle did you buy and who did you actually buy it from? Was the stock and grip in the description? I'd be calling up the place that I actually got it from demanding they send me what is supposed to come on the rifle. You paid over MSRP and got less than what you expected and now have to spend an extra $100 for a new stock and grip.

Radical RF15 RPR. I bought it local I deal with guy for years with speed parts for cars. He’s an honest guy and has always treated me well. We spoke about it he told me he was sorry but it’s just how they’re sent to him sometimes. The new one he has hanging up has the MFT furniture

I feel like if I was him, I'd be pulling the furniture of the one hanging up and trading it to you knowing you already paid over MSRP for a rifle I sold you. Then adjust the price accordingly for the one that has the non MFT furniture. Or at the very least the buyer of that gun will know exactly what comes on it since it's already in his possession.

So this may be a totally stupid question but here goes:

I got a Streamlight Protac HL-X for Christmas and this is my first WML. I got it mocked up for now, I am looking at an Arisaka offset mount later down the road. So when I get this finalized and get the cord wire tied in place, what's the best way to change batteries on the light? Right now with the thumb screw it wouldn't be a big deal to take the light off the gun, hold the tail cap and rotate the body. But with the Arisaka mount and it being more permanently mounted, what's the easiest way?

And I’m still figuring out what front sight I want. Thinking fixed front HK style

Is this the mount you plan on using?

If so, it's super easy to remove with the right still attached and then reattach it so you shouldn't have any issues changing the batteries. I have 2 of them on Protac lights and no issues so far.

That's the one. So you just take the mount off the rail with light still attached. Makes sense. I am probably overthinking this as well haha. I probably wont be changing batteries as much as I think.

I know and I agree this guy has treated me really really well in the past building the blower motor for my car and saved me a lot I just couldn’t bring myself to complain much. I have already replaced the A2 grip with a Magpul and a lot of people would most likely really enjoy this stock I’m going to try it a while longer. But yes I agree with what you’ve said. I also don’t want to burn a bridge as he is my only real source for ammo at this point locally

Yeah just keep it attached to the mount and loosed the 2 screws in the mount to remove and then reinstall. super simple.

Yea, with all those other factors involved, I just eat the cost of replacement stuff too and move on. I'd just chalk it up to saving a little less than originally when he built your blower motor. Sure the savings there could buy you many o stock and grip for your ar haha.

What ya got that's got a big huffer on it?

Something to check, because you have an unknown stock is the type of buffer tube it has. From a quick Google:

It would be a shame to spend time tracking down a stock just to have it not fit and then need to change your tube also.
