The whole reason for the all Canadian , North Division is so no teams need to cross the border

 

In non-NHL but skating news. I'm ordering a set of TRUE skates to replace my GRAFs. Finally was able to skate today. It was an outdoor rink with fantastic ice. Haven't been on the ice since the whole thing that does not get named started a year ago. My toe is jacked up and the wrong color. Oh well. I like new skates.

 

Lots of Referees here use the Trues. Overall good but a few watchouts.

Check all the blades you order when you're at the store. True has a ridiculously low QA standard and I know a few guys who got home to find either their installed or extra blades were cracked from factory. Getting them warrantied is a gong show.

Check lace rivets, if any of them are catching do not accept the skates. They'll fall out quickly and they're not a standard size. So they can't be easily fixed at the local rink, you'll need to hand them back which is a PITA.

If you haven't ordered check out the new Bauer lineup. Their top end stuff is custom fit now as well and I hear good things about them versus the True design. Either way, custom is great.

I had Grafs for a bit but they always fell apart on me. They were the Ref skate for a while because the softer leather was super comfy to wear all day during tournaments but the softer leather also broke down fast for me. I'll keep my current Bauer's until they fall apart and that won't be for a long time I hope.

Thanks for the heads up. I have a size US 16 foot so I cannot do Bauer or CCM customs in their top tier skate. Even then, both use a pre-made outer boot and adjust it to fit the mold. I was looking at CCM at first when I found out, so I passed and saved some headache.

 

I'm pretty sure Seattle will be in the Pacific and Arizona moves to the Central.

 

Being from PHX, I'd hate to see that move, simply for the amount of travel, the 'yotes will incur over the other teams in the division. It would make more sense to move Min. to the North with the current placement for the coming season.

They have to move it back for 2021/2022. The pain of watching the Leafs win OZ-T's Nuckleheads division would be too much year on year.

I can't wait to see Jumbo destroy one of the kids on the Nucks in the corner. It's going to be a good year.

It won't. With mandatory quarantine being a Canadian team and having a US affiliate basically mean no real meaningful call ups. You get the Taxi squad and that's about it. I mean you can refill it should someone get hurt but you have to wait fourteen days for that player to clear covid protocols before he can play.
