 it's unfortunately true. One of mine is sitting because I stripped yet another gear in the tranny.

x2 I used to race every weekend at Hobbytown and I would always make it to the mains; be running in 3rd or 2nd and BAM! Somnething would break, then I didn't get the prize money to fix it lol

Tamiya's come as kits. The frame, axles, transmission, everything has to be assembled. I sold all my rc's, but I had a custom built TLT crawler with locked axles and an fj cruiser body, F-350 hi-lift (same as the pictured tundra), and an Axial crawler. There are so many parts available its rediculous.

I was looking around one of the sites and you could spend a fortune on mod's for these trucks......wheels,tires,shocks,lights,etc ..........

funny you say they've come a long way.. They've been treading water for decades.. at least at tamiya.... literally selling the same few kits for-ever.. updating this and that, but really the same kits. (i've been selling off my tamiyas, but have had dozens over the years)

    welcome to 1982
They've re-released these old models. And started making more back in the mid 90s. Like the f350.

I personally get a kick out of this That's what we run round here. Scale, but capable.

THe ol 82 ad for the bruiser
