By any chance could you do a bigger pic of how/where your bending. I don’t have my kit yet so reference photos FTW!!

    would be greatly appreciated!

I would take 1000lbs as it’s now closer to 1300 more. The racks aren’t heavy and not much up there. I plan to remove things to see where it helps. All my skids are thick 1/4 plate BAMF so that adds up. I thought about a hybrid to bring the weight down but seems lots of that current hybrids are heavier than the old Pelfrey plate I have. I have a 12k Zeon winch. Prob should have gone with the 10k but with the Truck this heavy who knows. picked up a welder now just need to lean to use it.

You bent the arms I assume? Haven’t had time to piece it together yet.

So, in your pic are the 3D printed arms on the gm shroud already, or do you remove the fan and install arms on stock shroud?

Remove and install. I have not removed anything yet. this could easily be dropped-in if we had a shroud with a Rectangler opening we could adapt to.

I think me and Robert will be the ones who have to test it hard because we have weather which is a little above freezing so we are still good on traction around these parts.

There is no override button that comes with the kit but I did find the termination of the kit less than stellar. I ended up cutting and heat shrinking several terminals that had those cheap looking plastic terminals on it. I also ended up bending the mounting tabs as I previously mentioned and showed for proper clearance to keep from the tabs hitting the fan itself. I also ended up depinning several of the pins from the harness so they weren't just hanging there in free air then I ended up stealing some of the looming from the same spare wiring left in place to wrap up the open wiring from the Lingenfelter control module so it protects the wiring from heat some and also it doesn't look like garbage wiring just hanging out there in the open.

Hawk HPS pads are also really good. Agreed. Can't go wrong with Hawk, EBC, or the Akebono PRO-ACT pads. If you go for Yellow stuff which is Kevlar be prepared to replace the pads within 25K.

I really don't. I just used the entire arms once bolted to the fan as leverage and allowed the weight of the fan to keep the fan in place as I heated up the mounting tabs. Does that make sense? You don't have to get the tabs scorching hot, just warm enough to be uncomfortable to the touch, then from there you can start using the other end of the arms as leverage to allow the tabs to bend just enough to allow from striking the fan as it spins.

    I did.

    This.

Good luck adapting that fan frame assembly. If I was DEO or MESO, that would had been the route I went, then making a mounting assembly from there. It wouldn't had been hard.

This is a nice kit, but certain aspects of it disappoints me for the premiere coin we paid for it. Luckily for me, I modify everything to be better than was delivered and have the resources to do so most of the time.

I stole like 3 or 4 inches of looming from the wiring in this third picture.

One thing I love about GM is how easy they make it to dismantle and modify or depin their connectors. Yeah I hate the company for how cheap they are, but they really have some strong suits for the end consumer as far as repairability goes.

Yeah, down here it's been raining all day today. I had to go to ups and I kept burning the tires at stop lights on accident. Highs this week are in the 60s. Summertime will come fast though and it will be 110 before I know it.

4x4 launch it to see if you have any sort of speed improvements. You can use 4x4 on the pavement as long as you are going relatively straight.

Gotcha they did include a lead from the instructions at least you just need to supply the button. I plan to add that for on demand use. I will have to look I to the harness. I feel ya on shrink wrapping it. I need to give it a once over. At least could have use the shrink wrapped connectors.

I already sent up the suggestions to him. I felt that they were shortcomings that should had been addressed prior to receiving the new setup.

Constructive criticism! End user feedback allows businesses to grow into he right direction if they are taken.

Totally. I wish the shroud would as easily retained without some macgyver work. Will install as noted for now. Install seems east enough.

@Murphinator where did you install the small fuse? This instructions are fir a 3rd gen. I need to look but pretty sure it’s different then 2nd gens.

It hooks into the EVAP circuit?! Ah shoot. So what, did you just run the the blower coolant pump tap to the new fuse or something?

Maybe my supercharger setup is different from you guys but mine is just like a little clamp the slips on a fuse. So I just took the normal fuse out and put the one that came with this kit in and slipped that little clamp onto the fuse as well. It's fine because the fan will only come on if the coolant is hot, which shouldn't really be an issue. I do plan on getting one of those fancy fuse panels and I will tap into the incabin fuses where there is something that is only on with key in and set to ignition.

Ah makes sense. Only think I would wonder is the added pull from that fuse. Unless you guys think it’s fine. Could run a fuse tap with each on their own 10 amp fuse.
