That is true. That little fuse is only powering the Lingenfelter box to command on while the battery does the major heavy duty work. That Lingenfelter box probably only takes an amp to an amp and a half at most to work, so. Nevermind thinking about it in hindsight. Lol.

The additional pull will be fine. Fuses are designed to be rated double duty of their actual amperage pull so in reality the supercharger coolant pump only pulls 3-4 amps at most at all times. The Lingenfelter box will pull an amp to an amp and a half additional and the same fuse will power on during EVAP cycling while the truck is off , so we should be okay. Time will tell, worse comes to worse, we could always swap it out for a 15 amp without penalty. I have run a fuse to its max pull before of 30 amps and it ran fine for a very long time until it finally decided to quit, so even if you are close to max amperage duty for a specific fuse rating you'll be good until you actually hit that specific rating.

Makes sense. having it in after the fact my not be a bad thing. My old car used to run the fan fir a few minutes after ignition off to help cool it down. The random times the evac happens shouldn’t matter like you guys said the controller won’t do anything due to temps

You know if we really want to get complex with installing these things we actually could be able to rig a setup similar to the DRL anytime mod. I run it on mine and I use a 10 amp fuse which grabs it's power from a free 12 volt slot for a relay in the smaller relay box.

I could take a look at the smaller box and maybe we can use the free pins from the seat heater relays to power our fuse.

I'll have to get back to you on that. I still have either a day if not next week to do this so I got some time.

Dropped some scrap metal off and had my truck weighed. So with me in it and half a tank and some coats my tacoma weighs 4400lbs. Not bad, not my 4th gen 4runners weight but I can live with it.

Does anybody know if these quick change pulleys are lighter than the stock one? Just curious I've been looking at getting one in a 2.8, not sure on brand yet.

someone has to have some weights but I can say the stock one is much heavier by feel than the 2.8. The hub if anything is where the weight is and even that is not that heavy.

another thing is since smoothflow now has a hub that is made to fit the Tacoma if you reach out. I would go with that over pulley boys. PB has been fine but a bit of a hassle to get it to fit right and even then likely need to shim it. I pressed mine on more than flush but then had to still shim the idlers.

I have maybe 40lbs of stuff in the truck and only thing that i plan on installing adding weight is a rear sway bar and rear frame boxing. But at least i know what is the truck baseline.

Would definitely recommend smoothflow too. Very well made.

I'd say if it's not lighter (although I'm sure it is, at least a bit, because the pulleys are aluminum) the rotating inertia is much less because the weight would be concentrated at the hub, which is made of steel.

I would have gone smoothflow but did pulley boys as that is what all the cool kids were doing at the time. I considered removing and adding the smoothflow but its working so it stays for now.

The qwikchange is CONSIDERABLY lighter over OE. The OE one is steel compared to the billet aluminum hub and pulley. No competition in the weight category.

    Mine weighs like 4600.

x3 on the Smoothflow setup. Pulleyboys shafted a lot of us in this group during the group buy which needless to say shifts the majority of our business over to Smoothflow. I like Nate a lot more than the Pulleyboys dudes, his customer service and ship out time is top notch.

Pulleyboys wanted to charge me over $700 back in the day for a 2.3 because they said it was "a custom size which had to be machined separate from everything else. Nate charged me $50 and said if it didn't fit for whatever reason he would send me a new one which would. First time fit and everything has been gravy since.

No disrespect to Pulleyboys, but I'm much happier giving Nate the business now, and I hope everyone else feels the same way. Especially because he is much more accommodating than they are, no question.

His website needs an update however, and I did mention that when I ordered my 2.7 earlier this year. Lol.

But I has no snorkel so u win.
Yea that was the other thing that concerned me was spacing. Glad to heae about one that is spot on without much work.
Of course but I just really wanted to do the overall math to make sense of some odd things on my truck. One example is that the boost psi was higher (peaked at 7 At the end of the rev range) that I expected even with accounting for the colder weather we have had lately. Not really an accurate comparison, just a way to pass time at work.
Another thing I was gonna do mostly for looks was upgrade to titianium hardware.

good to know I'll send a email today or tomorrow. Btw anybody got a good link to a good pulley tool?

Everyone recommended the craftsman one. I found it on Ebay. Worked perfectly.
Craftsman 5 Ton Ratcheting Puller 949804, Gearwrench makes a decent one then you go into others like mac/snap on for the premium. There is always the auto parts loaners but you get what you borrow for.

Alright who’s coming racing? Got plenty of time to arrange travel and should be plenty of camping spots available. We could make it a Toyota blowout
