3090's aren't going to be in stock until the 3080ti comes out. Then I'm just want one of those but still wont be able to because nothing is going to be in stock yet again anyways.

Just waiting for EVGA to pull my golden ticket on the 3080 Ultra FTW3. Should've added myself to the wait list way earlier. Last I checked Reddit's spreadsheet, it had my number getting pulled in Feb/Mar timeframe..
Want to try and find a 5900X sometime, too. Haven't even bothered looking at those yet.

Yeah, kudos to EVGA for handing that and actually having the waitlist type thing.
Don't know how AMD and Nvidia didn't do that themselves.

 

I really really like the founder's edition appearance, but EVGA has never done me wrong. As much as I hate their clown car appearance this generation, I may still yet go with a EVGA 3090.

I think EVGA is the only card manufacturer that still warranties cards that have had overclocks water blocks or repastes done on them.

 

Yeah, I've always stuck with EVGA and never had issues.. Not sure I get the 'clown car' reference but the 3080 ultra ftw3 will be a nice upgrade from the 1070ti ftw2

And the over the top rainbow road going down the side, it would be hilarious to see some mario cart amiibos stuck to the side of it.



I mean it's not the worst card I've ever seen, it's not even that bad of a looking card, it's just a little I guess juvenile? And wouldn't really fit my build, not to say that my build is professional by any means. I love my rainbow puke, but I just feel like the EVGA card this go around is two in your face with it.

I miss the Classified line's theming. I built my rig around the "Umbrella Corp." colors.

 

Ohh, I've read that those "lips" or whatever are black now instead of red. Not like anyone really sees that side of the card anyway.
And I mean, you don't have to keep the RGB lighting as a rainbow. I usually set whatever RGBs I have to #00FFFF (Cyan).
It is a lot more RGB real estate though. The 1070Ti just has the letters that light up.

The Founder's card just really appeals to me, but at this point if I come across an EVGA 3090 for retail I'll pull the trigger.

 

I hadn't seen that with the googly eyes on it before but it's pretty funny.
Honestly though if I could find any 3080/3090 at MSRP, I'd grab it and probably be fine with it.
Can't really go wrong going from a 1070Ti to a 30 series card lol.
If I get EVGA though, I won't have to change the badges on my case

 

Ugh. I want a 3090 so bad so I can max my VR.

Took another look at EVGA'S FTW3 3090, it's actually not as bad as I thought, still like the Founders design better but the FTW3 with the right personal touches might fit my build quite well actually, especially the backplate.

That said as much as I like the back plate, for only $200 more I can get a kingpin but kingpins design is rather bland, aside from the epic mini LED screen.

Do you know if the FTW3 is going to be supported with open loop water blocks? Or if the kingpin loop can be opened and expanded into a open loop?

I'm also looking at the open back spreader design of the FTW3 and thinking to myself I wonder if I could put a heat sink on there...

I just like to mod tinker and fiddle...

Still wish it was a full 3 slot card with a wide open rear like the Founders.

It's time to upgrade from my (now 4?) old 1080 it hasn't been enough to upgrade till now, now it's really time!

@deadpocketss if I sign up for the notify, do I have to give them my payment information? Am I committed to buying at that point?

I'm thinking about at least getting my name on EVGA's waitlist for an FTW3, and in the meantime trying to get a founders and just end up buying, keeping, and, being happy with whichever I get first.

 

I've seen water blocks for the FTW3 around. I'm sure they're probably all out of stock too.

Yeah, those EVGA cards are brutal lol. Even JayzTwoCents, who may as well have EVGAs junk in his mouth, was pretty outspoken about the lightbar RGB and clown mouth on the FTW3. It's part of what pushed me into getting an Asus TUF card. That and EVGAs FTW3 cards still don't overclock that well. Steve from Gamers Nexus did a video and EVGA didn't do the best power management on their cards this gen. They're good, just don't expect to get much past 50 mhz more on air.

Those coolers don’t bother me, but I rip them off and put on a waterblock. EVGA is worth it for their RMA and customer support though. Normally the trade up program is decent option for some too.
