1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

I had to sit in the middle as a kid cause if I couldn't watch the road I'd get car sick. I'm not a good back seat passenger.

 

I did and still do, if I so much as look at my phone for a few minutes while riding in the back of a car I'll get nauseous. And that shit doesn't go away until you either throw up or wait it out for an hour+

On the rare occasion I'm not the one driving I'll make sure to call shotgun, or if I do end up in the back of a car I'll just plant my face on the window and make sure to never look inside lol. It's the only thing that keeps it from happening

 

I'll just take enough Benadryl to trip balls and pass out until its over

 

Funny enough though I've been flying more times than I can remember and I've never gotten airsick.

 

Oh yeah, the old Mom's right arm thrust safety feature. Right foot brake right arm Kids.

 

With Dramamine I was able to go whale watching and eat in the galley, I almost bit the hook on the Alaskan Crab fishing as a young adult.

 

Every time.

 

Rare view of snow capped mountains from our town's main street.




Mountains down here do get a lot of snow but these particular ones top out around 4k feet, so it has to get pretty cold and wet for that to happen. Snow usually stays above 5k feet around here

Beneath the snow line you can see the yellow/charred landscape from the fires earlier this year lol

 

Is that a "you missed a spot"?

 

I managed to primer it, but missed it with the actual coating.

I miss living in Ojai. No snow to worry about.

 

Ojai is a nice area, I used to live in Santa Barbara when I went to school there for a couple years in my early 20s. Would drive through Ojai going to/from my parent's place sometimes for the nice ride

 

I just watched a video of Glendora Mtn.
Road after recent snow. I used to fly down that road to save brakes in my Jeep J10.

 

Ventura/Oxnard and Santa Barbara is where I've spent most of my beach life. It's still the only beaches I'll stay and hang out when I'm on vacation.

 

I love the Ventura area, Santa Barbara is a little too hoity toity for me. Carpenteria was much better.

Only thing that sucks about the VTA/Oxnard area is that it has been hit pretty hard by the dope scene in the last couple decades or more, and I don't mean weed. They could probably film a mini version of The Wire on Ventura Blvd if they wanted to

 

I can see that. It's the reason I'm so obsessed with the smell of Hawaiian Tropic. All the beautiful betties.

Yeah Santa Barbara is definitely like that especially in the downtown area. At least UCSB has it's own little frat town north of the main city lol. I went to a photo school closer to the Montecito area called Brooks Institute that has since gone out of business...luckily I transferred out of it before that happened but that's another story in itself
