    Hello all,
New member here and first post, I may of met some of you at the MORE meet a few weeks back. I’ve got a 2018 Sr5 which I’ve recently lifted and put on 285’s.

Since then I have not been happy with the way it’s been driving, the gear hunting and the way of falls on its face at highway speeds. I’ve been researching replacing the gears and that it would take care of my issues. It has also been suggested that an OV tune could also help as well.

I don’t really know what to do, will the OV tune help me? If so I’m all for it! Any suggestions or advice would also be welcome.
    Thanks!

Hi Adam! Welcome to the forum and the Maryland thread.

There are regears, tunes and flashes, but have you tried just laying into it?

    Welcome to TW!
Check out this thread and see if getting the ECU TSB will help.
If not, or in addition, @dave5623 can help with the tunes.

That’s the sacrifice you make mounting 285s.

He has OVtunes updates for sale. If I’m saying that right... either way, he was working on setting up a group meet for those that wanted the tunes on their trucks. He hangs out around this thread somewhere too

Don’t seem to have that issue of it jerking, it’s at 1,500 rpms @ 70mph. Everything is downshift, no get up and go.

Yup! Been here for all 35 years of my life. Definitely changing that’s for sure. Been into cars most of my life, but this is my first truck. Last car was pro charged SRT8 jeep. I’m done with horsepower. Lol

@Akal20874, welcome to the forum. As much fun as the Tacos are there are indeed a few areas that need improvement/help and the drivability of the factory tune is at the top of many folks list.
I have a '17 OR, lifted, Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx in LT255/80R17 tires (heavy) and I was seriously considering regearing but the OVTune saved me from that. I am a huge fan of it.
I'm in Pasadena, MD, I don't know where you live but I'm always willing to give a demonstration.

I work in the Ft Meade/Jessup area so you're not too far from there. We could meet up one evening if you'd like.
