What are you paying for your 2021 Tacoma? (price thread)

@YetiMtnBkr frustrating for sure. I’m assuming you’ve already reached out to each dealership and asked them about the situation.

 

Planning to start searching again in 2021 for tax purposes. Not in a real hurry other than to eliminate the continuous time I waste over analyzing this shit. The amount of time I spend and waste on Tacoma World (taco porn), reading reviews and watching videos, etc is more money in lost opportunity cost (I am self employed and should be working) than what I will ever hope to get off the MSRP in the near future. My wife and three kids are done with it - just go buy the MFer already!

 

I bought my 19 at same dealer and they're giving me 41k on the trade. They started at 48, me 46... settled at 47500 but had them throw in a flipbak. Im in MD

 

i cant believe there is a markup on the TRD off-road in California

 

Got an offer for 41.5K OTD in a dealer in NM. Cement Off road 4x4, automatic, tech package and a bunch of other stuff.
Is this considered to be a good deal?

I think before TTL was 37.3K.

 

yeah good thing I dont live in Cali... I love that weather in that state, but it seems to me there is alot of issues with the states.

 

It all has to do with the wind. The Santa Ana's I think they call them. Makes the majority of things lean one direction.

I'm in CA looking to purchase a 2021 TRD OR DCSB in Cement with the premium/tech packages. I'm working with a dealership who was able to secure an "allocation" for me back in early November. They requested adding the the premium and tech package (and a couple other accessory changes) from the factory, some things were updated (I was sent screenshots), but the truck showed up last week without premium or tech.

I was told that due to parts shortages because of the pandemic and year end, Toyota just pushed the trucks out to dealerships without accepting the changes. So I'm back to square one and we have to try again with (hopefully) another allocation in mid-January.

 

you should look at other states... sometimes I wish I live in a state where there is no sales tax.... man i can save so much more!

 

Yeah, but I don't want to deal with the inconvenience of the DMV, smog test, weighing, etc. at this time. Maybe in the future depending on what happens with this next allocation...

 

has there been an update to what the deals will be January? I got screwed and my truck order got delayed by over a month (was supposed to be in by mid dec now looking like late january)

 

I am developing the mindset of just waiting! It is still December of 2020 and we are talking about a 2021 vehicle. I hoping there will be plenty of options in due time! Good luck!

 

Same boat. I have a 17 year old vehicle that I am wanting to pass down to my daughter. She is about to get her learner's permit. I fear teaching her how to drive and fear even more she is going to wreck the thing. I don't want to be in a position of compromising with a rushed purchase. I talked to the wife last night and if the dealer I am working with on Costco pricing can't find anything that meets my specs in the next 30 days I am leaning towards going with a local dealer that is willing the place an order - but at full MSRP. The dealer willing to do Costco pricing is not willing to do an order, they are only looking at their standard allocations and also trying to trade with other dealers.

 

Yes same here. Contacted Carlsbad yesterday and the truck on their website that I wanted was already sold on a pre-order. they asked what I was looking for, told him, and he said "your going to probably have to order that unless you are really flexible on your options."

Another poster on this thread encountered the same thing at another dealer. Listed on their website but it is also sold.

 

Yea it happens a lot. My guy I buy vehicles from at Carlsbad had one on offer when I was there. I even put a deposit on mine that was on transit and got a call 3 days later when it was in to come get it.

 

Some people like dropping German luxury car cash on a mass market mid-size pick up

 

Not an exact answer but this might help. if the last 6 of the VIN are not all numbers then the truck has not been built yet.

man, I can't believe is having such a hard time on finding a taco in west coast... I see plenty of them in the east... I live NJ, i see plenty of them on cars.com... maybe their data is off? I wish you guys luck... I couldn't believe the dealers has the upper hand on sales right now. *mind blown*

 

Half the Tacomas listed for sale on dealer sites are preorders. Once shipped from the factory the inventory page is updated, but doesn’t define actual availability. 25 of 30 trucks at my dealer were preordered by customers yet showed available.
