    Hey guys, I have BP-51s on order, currently running Nitrochargers with 886s up front (too stiff :rolleyes:), Dakars in the back which will stay. Trying to figure out where I need to set my preload given my weight (or lack of weight) compared to a full steel bumper. I was thinking maybe 15-17mm considering the winch, aluminum slimline bumper, aluminum skids, and steel sliders. Or maybe 15mm passenger, 17mm driver?

    @Bannerman, I have mine set at 17 drivers and 15 passengers. I have a similar setup as far as an estimated weight and feel like I need to adjust mine to 20mm which I will do next service.

    Makes sense. What does that hybrid bumper weigh? I'm running aluminum slim bumper and aluminum skids so I'm thinking I may start at 15mm.

    I imagine they may have settled a bit, if so very minimal. From memory I gained approximately 1-1.5" of lift at the front.
    I have since added a Warn 10k winch so need to adjust the preload to 20mm.

    Man, that seems to contradict a lot of the other info. That seems like a tiny amount of lift for that amount of preload. I guess I better order a swing compressor to make sure I can dial this in.

    From what I understand, it is supposed to be a 2" lift.
    I thought I should have gained a little more than I did but the numbers are what I got.
    To be fair, these numbers are what I measured at my initial instal with preload set at the factory 5.6mm but have since increased the preload to 17mm and 15mm.
    Initial set up was 5.6mm preload D and P.
    Before Fitment - FL 527mm, FR 527mm, RL 517.5mm, RR 536.5mm
    After Fitment - FL 555.6mm, FR 562mm, RL 603.2mm, RR 609.6mm
    I recall taking measurements from center of hub to lower edge of wheel fairing guard.

    Edit: After adjusting the Preload to 17mm (FL) and 15mm (FR) my measurements were as such. 590.5mm (FL) and 584.2mm (FR)

    Just as another data point, I've got dual agms in factory location, winch, steel skids from rci and the covert steel bumper from cbi.
    I have a 1/4" spacer driver's side.
    To get my rake close to even, I had to go maxed out driver's at 30mm and 27mm passenger. It still has a very small rake.

    I have a kbvoodoo steel rack and 23zero tent mounted in the rear
    Dakar heavy leaf pack in the rear.
    compression is maxed out all around

    She weighed in about 6500lbs lol

    The only "bad" thing about this setup is the front springs are tailored for the lighter, less porky, rigs...

    Mine is on the lighter side, the 886s were too stiff given that most of my armor is Aluminum. What is the spring rate on the the coils on the BPs?

    I knew this at one point lol its 5 something... Close to 600... I've had them for a while now and i got on the horn with ARB USA to see about the adjustment max and rebuild procedure... the sprinks were close to 600 lb springs if i remember right, but i do remember the cat saying that if you adjust your preload any more than 20mm and they could tell from the dirt marks, they would not be able to warranty anything and rebuilds would be more expensive.... so, theres that...

    Yeah, same company... makes sense. Anyway, aside from that, the quality is top notch. Happy as hell with the setup, especially after adding larger bumps front and rear.

    I gained just over 2 inches on mine. Installed a relentless plate bumper and a 12k winch when I did my suspension. 18mm preload to compensate for the weight up front. Performed flawlessly both on and off road since installing in August.

    Forgot to mention the dual AGM batteries... things weigh a FT... lol but, good to hear people are getting decent lift with the relentless front bumper, that thing is BEEF.
