I just recently had a few different services completed at the dealer (I can't work on my truck where I currently live). It's now making a popping/ticking sound after running for a few minutes. The sound is coming predominantly from the side of the engine where the oil filter is.

    Services just completed include:
    - Replaced spark plugs
    - 4x4 Differential service / fluid exchange
    - Other misc (alignment, oil & filter, etc)

As soon as I drove home I noticed when I went to park that it was making a sound I've never heard it make before. I took it out today and it makes the sound after going a few miles. It hasn't happened on start-up or just basic engine idle. It only happens after driving for a couple minutes. I drove 5-10 minutes this morning and parked and it was doing it again. I cut the engine off, started everything up again, and it didn't make the sound after starting up.

Since this was the first time the spark plugs have ever been replaced, as well as the first differential service it's ever had, I wasn't sure if anything could be related. Before I take it back I just wanted to see if anyone knew what this sound was, if it's normal, or if it's something serious? Video of the sound below. Thanks.

That does not sound normal. Wonder if theres a spark plug loose? But Id think that would happen all the time, including startup.

You checked the oil level right?

I didn't check the oil level, just assumed they did it right the first time. I'll take a look, though.

Almost sounds like a rag is caught in your clutch fan and rubbing on the fan shroud
Shut the truck off and have a peek at the fan
Its not the front diff as you are not moving in the video .

Dont drive it until you check the oil. Take all of 10 seconds. Just in case..

Sounds like you left the hose off the VSV (purge valve), it would make a sound like that when the computer commands it on.

Sorry for late follow-up. Took it back to dealership same day, as soon as I pulled in the check engine light and another came on.

Turns out it was the evap/purge flow valve vacuum hose disconnected from air intake. They reconnected the evap hose and performed evaporative emissions to verify it was all good. No issues since.

    Thanks for the quick replies.
