anyone work on mg's?

My dad's decided to clean up/restore his 72' mg b and asked me if I wanted to help (with the promise of some headers or the like for me in the end ). The engine has been rebuilt at least once by my dad but he bought it trashed and fixed it up then trashed it, so there is a possibility that the first owner may have rebuilt it as well. Anyways it's mainly carb work and alot of interior/exterior work that needs to be done. The floor pans need to be replaced and welded in and we need a new soft top. The suspension also needs a bit of a tune up. Has anyone got any advice as to where we can get parts for such an old british car? also does anyone have any experience with these cars as for what to look out for? thanks for all the help-max

 

I've gotten some stuff from these guys for my dad's 73 MGB. They have a pretty nice showroom up in KC too.

Do some online searches. My dad died while his old 68 triumph tr 250 was being restored. Parts are expensive to a point....but you can find them.

 

just what i needed. i think he went around looking at different clubs when we used to live in kc but ever since we moved to stl that cars been outside so it needs a wee bit of body work

 

haha yeah my dad doesn't really know how to take care of his shit but still has no problem layin down cash for parts
