I also never understood why the lights aren't tied into the wipers.

So now that we know everyone’s thoughts on the cheap “beamtech” drop in leds,
What have you done to your tacoma today?

Well I gave mine a nice little wash of all the road salt and somehow managed to rip half the 3m double sided tape off the pass. window rain guard. Guess I’ll have to go get some new tape and re install that on this long weekend.

To @Blackdawg and @m3bassman's points - I think it might be cool to see a test of the H4 Beamtechs as part of your thread, regardless of any Beamtech bias you've got ;). As I mentioned in my post, I thought the lo-beams on them were quite good, and the photos show that the cut-off is very reasonable. I found the hi-beams to be complete shit though (which I didn't care about as much since I knew I'd be using the Hellas if I needed light).

    NEW TOPIC

Since I started the craziness with the LEDs (sorry, not sorry I guess - since I mentioned even in that post that I wasn't done with my lighting...and that the Beamtechs were no more...but for a completely different reason), let me steer the conversation just slightly away from bulb technology.

With the help of @nzbrock, I've finally corrected the first mod I ever did to my Tacoma - some 19 years ago. I've re-disabled my DRLs.

Nah, bringing up LED headlights has always been like bringing up LBJs.

...Or like saying "EV" around Monte who will then go crazy telling you about Hydrogen. :luvya:

I drove my 1st Gen to the spot on the side of the road my son was stranded on yesterday. I'll be driving my 1st Gen to the parts store to buy a clutch for a Subaru WRX in the near foreseeable future.

I bet you can't tell how excited I am about that :puke:

You are actually not the first person to tell me that. Watched a couple videos on it last night. Definitely looks like pulling the motor would allow a lot better access to get everything lined up etc. Plus, that way I'm not laying on a cold garage floor for 2 days.

Oooo... that was a bad move.

I just take my bans in stride. No reason to do stupid shit like that. I have phone numbers to text anyone I really need to talk to from TW.

I don't think it was heated over just tie down hooks. That dude seemed to get heated over just about everything. From what I care to remember.

    Manual transmission guys

So, walk me through this a little bit. I'm just trying to wrap my head around this cutch stuff and you guys obviously know more than I do, because I'm a blank slate on manual transmissions.

I'm looking through, to get an idea on parts. Looking at Sachs clutches at AutoZone (online). There are a bunch of different options for 08 Impreza Turbo AWD.
    I'm seeing
    Outer 8 7/8 inch,
    Outer 9 inch,
    Outer 8 1/2 inch...
    Inner 1 inch,
    Inner 7/8...
    optional oversized bearing and sleeve
    :violent:

I'm assuming this is something I'll need to measure when I get in there? That's a bitch. Or is there a way to know what I'll need? Seriously, I have no fucking clue on this.

Next question... I'm also looking at doing the slave cylinder, pilot bearing, release bearing, and possibly rear main seal while I'm in there. Is there something you think I need to add to this list?

Yes, I know this hijacks a TW thread to Subaru. But I'm thinking people can learn things that can be applied to their Tacoma, from the conversation lol

    ALL OF THEM!...Then some more.

can't say much about the sizes..probably a difference with like the N/A one, Turbo, STI..ect. Just different sizes/styles for the power/torque.

You can often just rebuild the slave, would look at doing that instead of replacing it. Pilot, throwout bearing, and rear main seal is a great idea.

Flywheel is often a good idea too depending on the abuse and mileage. New bolts for the fly wheel is recommended too.

    Please HELP I’m desperate!!!!

My truck barely turns on, engine sounds like a two-stroke while it’s running and it slowly sputters out and dies. Started happening out of nowhere after I upgraded my main electrical wires.

i’ve I tried improving the connections, checking the fuses, checking the air intake, putting the original electrical wires back in....

it was perfectly fine before this, anyone have any ideas?
