It's unlikely to solve the problem but try disconnecting the battery.

I was having issues when I bumped to the 76 mm throttle body and tuning with JustDSM. I got a new throttle body and it didn't solve the problem and out of troubleshooting desperation I disconnected and reconnected the battery and the code cleared. Think it was the same code

Hey we all gotta start somewhere right? For some it turns out to be a little more expensive on the wallet than others along the process. I'm at the point where I got enough knowledge to know what do and what road to veer towards after working on vehicles for over 18 years. (Started in 2002) You pick up something's along the way. :)

If the code returns immediately after turning the key on, it is likely he either munched the wiring somewhere along the reinstallation process or he has a computer issue. The suggestion below is certainly worth a shot first though.

For some reason the battery tends to make the electronics wonky sometimes. Almost like a glitch. This would be the equal to pulling the plug from a printer when it won't print and the issues self resolving and returning to their normal state once power is restored. He oughta give it a shot. It's worth a try!

From COLD, code cleared, it idles till warm then code comes after it warms up. I've checked wiring nothing suspect.

Then reverse your coolant bypass because if the issue is happening when it warms up it probably means that it doesn't like the fact that coolant is not running through it.

i have had a coolant bypass for, i think, 8 years now with no issues. the coolant in the throttle body is to keep it from icing up in very cold climates. ill buy you and @BenMara a beer if its that.

x2 on the battery reset. disconnect both sides and touch them together. that will drain the capacitors in the system. i do this all the time on bmw's.

I know but look at where he is located. The chances are fairly probable that the throttle body is not heating up enough for the motor to move properly due to the temperatures they have going on up there.

What works for us doesn't work for everyone. It's sort of a spitball but I want to make sure the obvious is eliminated or reversed from the equation before he moves any further potentially expending his energy where it doesn't need be.

Does anyone in here have an 05-11 driver side air bag for the steering wheel with audio controls that they’d be willing to sell? I am trying to upgrade my steering wheel and have found that the air bag will need replacing too. Clock spring might also need swapping from the looks of it

I don't have one. But, I've done what you're doing:

I do agree, it's worth reversing it and seeing what happens.

Fwiw I have the 76mm throttle body and I've put the coolant supply to it on a valve, so I can turn it off in the summer. This fall I forgot to spin the valve open again and I drove it like that in a few days of 0 degree F temperatures. It ran the same as ever, no codes.

But again, worth reversing the mod just to rule it out.

And before you ask, yes, I tested the valve before putting it in to ensure it wasn't passing :D

Thanks for the link, lots of good info in there. Do you know if I can buy the steering controls on the right side for the phone separate from the other side? The steering wheel i bought has the volume/mode switches but the ones on the right side are blank

You will have to swap your clockspring no doubt.

See, that right there is smart modding. Add in an option as a countermeasure to eliminate potential issues down the road. Freaking engineers man. I tip my hat off to you for that one.

They come together brother. You buy one and you get the other with it. Once you have it you can swap out one side for blanks if you so desire but doing so would likely require you lobotomize two units.

I tracked a used toyota one down for a decent price so now all i need is the airbag

I did manage to track these separate part #s down in another thread, but i already pulled the trigger on a new complete one, so i think im just going to run with that and sell the old one.

The part numbers I list there in that post are what you want. That way everything matches and looks nice.

Has anyone relocated the 12V tap for the supercharger pump so it isn't running randomly when the truck is parked? I'm diagnosing a potentially failing battery and the occasional drain while the truck is parked overnight in <30 degrees isn't helping. Also, when I am running a single battery with a Dometic fridge, I want the least amount of random drain unless it is necessary.

I still need to get my DSCB onto a scale after I transferred the Vagabond Drifter onto it and put in a bed divider, fridge, bedrug, and some other semi-permanent things like my toolbag and extra fluids… But it sure is fun launching with TRAC OFF into turns and then having traction catch and fly away from crowd-eating Mustangs...

I will be WAY overdue for some mountain biking and camping in AZ, so I put it on my calendar. At least to watch. I'm not sure if I'll participate. If I do, it will be hilarious with the camper on the back and my bike(s) hanging off the hitch on a rack.

I just drove by a regular cab 2nd gen earlier this evening that had temp plate and it got me thinking that a really fun daily would be a 5-lug regular cab with a V6 and supercharger... Maybe a railroad tie mounted in the rear of the bed to help with traction like my grandpa used to install at the Ford factory when building the 60's Econoline vans...

What do you use for logging? Cable and software is what I am lacking right now (and laptop, but that is easily solved).

Remove rear seats, passenger seat, tailgate, carpet, plastic cubbies behind the rear seats, center console… That shouldn't take too long to drop a few hundred more pounds.

I need to shed some weight and try a similar truck and S/C make sure I’m not crazy (still about how heavy it is)

if you don’t already grab HP tuner and an AFR with Analog out for all your data logging needs. But at least HP module so you can get some data logging.

let’s get that truck weighed and see where it sits.

I should be pretty light as I have an aluminum front skid, sliders and stock everything else plus a ~350lb camper, fridge, bedrug, toolbag, full size spare under the bed.

Yah does not seem to bad. Still always surprised how heavy they are when actually weighed. We need a running list of our overweight and in shape trucks
