    Yep 4.75bs with 35x12.5

New TR's will be better. Not sure specs yet...would like to be able to get real chains on them for snowplay.

Are you running the 35x12.5/17 or the 315-70/17

woo that's tight, but it works, so I'll take it! My 37x12.5 shouldn't really be any wider, just taller, which might just move the widest part of the tire up a little bit which is a good thing, clearance-wise.

Not all sizes and tires are the same when it comes to construction and how much "ballooning" the sidewall has.

in theory, and I suggest getting the right wheels with the specs for your tires and clearances. Kicking the spindle out 2.25" in theory should have helped...but I lost it by going with wider tires. Nitto makes a skinny that is pretty sweet. I'm running BFG AT KO2 C Loads per the wise sages at JD.

edit: yes the ucas are wider too...

There are a lot of important factors that should be given equal attention when talking about clearances, sizes and "how big of a tire can I fit.." circular discussions. Tire weight, brakes, suspension, tie rods, CVs, gearing, et al. There's way more to it than stuffing the biggest tire you can fit unless you are just speed bump romping at the mall. It's a lot to consider before heading down to the tire shop.

Speaking of gearing...difference from stock to 35s. Regear happens next week. 4.88 nitros and front locker get installed. https://www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc?tires=265-70r16-317-70r17

Of course, I'm well aware that I'm not in the clear yet, but at least it's not impossible.

I also have the +2.25 kit, same set up. The tires I got are the Nitto Ridge Grappler 37x12.5R17

    1.25" of clearance? haha

Definitely! Was just asking about clearance to JD's spindle gusset's specifically, as I've only tried my current 4.5"bs with 35" tires with them. I'm going to be cutting/tubbing the whole wheel well as soon as my wheels show up. Tires are already here! I'm already on 4.88's, but I did run the 35's on stock gears for around 2 years before switching and locking the front/rear. I own a shop in Canada, and deal with these questions frequently. So frequently that I made a video trying to explain how this all works for the "what size tires fit with a 3 inch lift" crowd.

I know what he meant hence the asking for a friend and bag over head emoji. It was a joke/sarcasm/facetious sometimes that stuff goes over my head too.
