I understand what you were suggesting, cut off OEM connectors and crimp on MX150 directly to the harness.

That would yield a cleaner look with the harness, though it would ideally mean sealing (with heat shrink?) off the unused leads (mostly grounds).

For some reason I really can't fathom too many people who would spend $1200 on headlights who would be game to permanently modify their harness in this manner. I think I might be willing to de-pin and re-pin but that's about as far as I could bring myself to go.

One intermediate step might be de-pinning the OEM leads into a single connector which can then be converted to the MX150. But the DRL plug gender is the opposite of the others and therefore wouldn't be compatible. So it'd probably come down to something more like:

    1. De-pin turn signal, high, and low beam connectors, heat shrink over grounds on low and turn.
    2. Re-pin 4 remaining leads to a single 4 pin connector which works for those pins
    3. Use the male version of the connector in 2 to tap for feed to conversion harness

In this setup you end up with 2 connectors on the OEM side instead of 4 and a reasonably easy path back to stock configuration to reverse if needed, especially since halogen bulbs don't care at all about polarity. It might save a little bit of cost as well in not having to source the annoying H11 male connector and the plugs for unused pins. It would also make disconnect and reconnect idiot-proof and faster, but that's not really something done frequently enough to justify optimization.

I'm a pick and choose your battles kinda guy. Since my "used" OEM LED's came with the "Mike" connector, I would be a fool not to use it. Why try to build a better mouse trap? But I get Caribe's point, I get paid my specialized rate to often enter a home for 5 minutes and simply flip a switch that the customer forgot or is scared to touch.

Anybody know who to change the 2020 drl LEDs from white to amber without cracking the lens open?

Are they sequential blinking type when turn is selected?

Unlike Aftermarket lights with RGB LEDs that can change color, I believe that the OEM LEDs are simply white, so without swapping out the boards, if even available ( cracking open the lens) that would not be an option.

IF the DRL's/Turn are NOT sequential type, a wire location swap and an external module add would do without cracking open the assembly...maybe.

Just got my harness from Mike and picked up the HL from my local dealer who price matched online. No broken tabs! About to head home to install...wish me luck to not break anything. Gonna have to warm up the garage so plastics won’t be too brittle...505A685B-3312-4DF1-98DC-A71E0B6354D2.jpg6EF1F25F-5021-4CAB-80D6-92E53C4F5B79.jpg

    I saw, looks good.

I was never a fan of the projector look personally. Thought about doing a BHLM but they would still look similar just black. I feel these headlights not only perform better but make the truck look so much better.

Agreed. I was sort of fond of the L and backwards L to remind myself that I’m a loser but C for chump works ok too.

they don’t look sequential, but in the reflection of cars in front of me it looks sequential. I’m not sure. I’ll post a video.

They look the same as the pros with a faint reverse sequential. Pretty sure they’re the same but labeled as one or the other.

I definitely see the sequentiality (yeah I just made that up) on the garage doors better than looking at it directly. No idea why.

Yeah it’s funny how that works. They still look bad ass. I’d rather have amber DRLs though. Wish there was some time of harness like there is for the total tail lights.
