im pretty sure anyone can flash a VFT file with the new flash software as long as they have the registration from the old software. So if you have 2.0 in a VFT file, you can still flash it. Obviously if you dont have a current OVtune Reg file, then you cant.

You wont be able to open VF or edit tunes

 

Does OV/VF have 2021 AT 2.0 files in their map pack? Seen varying answers over the last few days. Specifically, I mean 04C20.

I’ve seen posts of aftermarket tune files (I guess people who edited the OV VF blank slate files) but people back and forth saying the real OV VF 2.0 files were and were not available for 2021.

Also, since OV doesn’t appear to sell the nice convenient package of the cord and OBD2 dongle with the kit anymore, does anyone know if the Mongoose Pro cable and dongle (like the one techs use to connect to Techstream) will work? Would be a nice savings for me if I could use that instead of having to buy the Tactrix one.

 

04C20 tune pack is now available, yes. it's the 04C30 that isn't to my knowledge (that's the one I'm waiting for).

I'm no expert on cables but if that's one techs use then it's probably safe? the tactrix is known to work well and really it's the super cheap ones that are cautioned because very bad things can happen if you're unlucky

 

There are a lot of cheap "mongose" cables out there. Trust me, I owned one. If yours is genuine (cost ~$450-$500 and not from ebay) it will *probably* work. Mat would have to confirm. If you have any suspicion that it is not genuine, I would highly recommend against using it for anything.

I couldn’t agree with you more... at first I didn’t realize it wasn’t a ‘me’ issue and reinstalled OVTune twice, in the process overwriting the tunes I downloaded before they were removed. I should have thought to back them up somewhere else I guess but I mean... I thought they would always be available. After an upgrade to VF so I would be able to access them again it took some pestering to get my master serial and got a snotty message back. Radio silence for well over a week on the tune pack. This is from someone who spent <$700.

FFS, what part of "beta" don't you people understand?
Beta's are development files, and once completed files are out, typically a software beta is no longer available.

so when you test MS windows beta for microsoft for example, and the retail version is released, do you call microsoft and demand you want the beta (just because you want it) and overwrote it?

nonetheless, beta's are generally retired once a finished version is released.

Are we even able to download the full released tunes again? Being able to go back to older versions is not some niche thing when it comes to software, it's pretty standard practice.

 

The current 2.0 final? Are those not available to you? Is it still a 2018 thing?
