Best wiper blades?

Which do you prefer and why?

Looking to upgrade my cheapie Wal-Mart ones...(this brand)
they're already streaking after a short amount of time

I always did well with the Bosch ones. If you clean off your wiper with a cleaner and then coat it with WD-40 it’ll last you a good long while.

Oem $28 for the pair

 

I like my bosch icons. Last me ~3 years typically. I've heard denso makes good ones, going to try those next

 

OEM are the best in my experience. Use the OEM arms and purchase new blade inserts. Economical, long lasting. Goodyear is garbage, high end Bosch are better but cost an arm and a leg, NAPA Exact Fits are the closest to OEM but not as good or durable.

 

Agreed that Goodyear wiper blades are garbage. I believe that's what my local Costco carries and has on sale once in a while. I'm currently on the Bosch Icons and their longevity with low maintenence (on my part) has surprised me. But they are overpriced at full retail. Get them when they go on sale on Amazon for a better value.

 

Another vote for OEM arms and the just replace the insert when needed. I get the inserts from the stealership when required. Inserts are inexpensive and the arms last a long time. I'm still using my original oem arms after 10+ years, having replaced the inserts 3 or 4 times in that period.

 

After searching recently for the best deal on OEMs, this was the best price, free shipping, and included both different sides needed.

I learned to stop buying for price when replacing W.S. Wipers I purchased Bosch from Amazon, way over priced but they are good. Yes different size for each side.

 

4 bucks for oem inserts cant beat that tbh

Replacement wipers are good to a point but the spring tension on the arms gets less as time goes by. $43 every 3 years is no big deal.

 

The OEM blades are fine. All blades need to be wiped periodically to clean of road grime with a soapy rag and that alone will make them function as intended.

 

I just bought a single beam silicone one at Wal Mart this week, for the driver's side. It is working beautifully. I think it was like $17. I'll be buying one for the passenger side soon.

 

The silicone rubber ones are supposed to last longer. I put a pair of piia on the tacoma from summit, cost about the same at $20ish eash. One got bugs or boogers messed ut up so it streaks there but otherwise seems to be ok so far.

On the work truck I got one of the the Michelin silicone ones, they were about $18 each. They're still very new so I can't say how long they'll last. They have a wing like front.

Before I was getting the cheapest ones napa carried, which seemed to last as long as anything else I ever got.

 

Yeah, I think my silicone one is Michelin. I've heard they are supposed to last longer. My son uses them on his Jeep Wrangler. With that nearly vertical windshield, when he hits a bug, it damn near vaporizes and makes a hell of a mess. He said he needs every advantage he can get.

 

Take into consideration the reviews you get from various regions.
I see you are in CA so my suggestion is not what you want. I have to account for snow/ice/freezing temps. I love the old school with the rubber boot over the arm. Cant beat it for the great North East.

 

So is the chatter and skipping caused by worn wiper blades or the spring tension on the arms
failing? I can put Rain x on my windshield and the wipers run smooth for a while and then
it's right back to ddddd dddddd dddddd the sound is very annoying.

 

I buy the Goodyear wipers from Costco when they are on sale, but the original style "blade" wiper inserts seem to work better. Currently have those on my Tacoma, and I'll probably continue using them...
