I want to quit :( i just realized ive been dipping since i was 15 thats 8 years, the only time i quit was when i had a girlfriend that wanted me to. I realized it was easiest for me to have it available but not want it. So i kept a can in the freezer. Needless to say once we separated i started again... i honestly wish you luck with this Keith

I dip and smoke on every once in a while when I drink and stuff... I find that I really want to smoke or chew when I am trying to get in shape and loose a few pounds... I dont do it anymore because I am worried I am starting to become addicted. Its really hard not when playing video games and drinking beer or when your with a group of guys just BSing and every one is smoking or chewing

I know that it's hard to quit. I started when i was 15 and i just turned 18 a few months ago. It made me feel so bad lying to my parents when they found cans telling them they were from before they caught me the first time. Now that i'm 18 they dont care but they make me feel bad about it. My grandma slapped me the first time she found out lol, but i've gone from 1 and a quarter can a day down to 3/4th's can a day. Hopefully i can quit before my 19th birthday. And good luck to anyone quiting

Good for you. I quit chewing a little over a month ago. Been chewin since I was 14. I am using the nicotine gum, it is working but I am afraid I am addicted to nicotine gum now. Better than chew I guess.

i remember about 5 years ago while on a deployment i took some kind of drug to help me quit smoking. i remember getting to down to about 1 or 2 cigarettes a day but i didn't end up quitting. a few years ago i ended getting tired of smoking and slowly decreased the number of cigarettes i smoked a day, until one day i just stopped and never looked back. i am a firm believer that you will never quit until you truly want to quit. i had just become so sick of being dependant on it, that i wanted nothing to do with it anymore. it wasn't easy, but it was worth it.

My cousin dipped for a long time. Finally decided to stop a little over a year ago. He used sunflower seeds and when he really needed somethin in his lip, he used "Jerkey chew". If ya don't know what that is, (I don't know if they have it everywhere, but we have it here), it's ground up jerkey in a can like dip.

ive been dipping for about 4 years, started when i was 17 and a few of my best friends started doing it, i tried it with them and did it occasionally. when i turned 18 and could buy it on my own i started doing it regularly during wrestling season because i as cutting weight and it helped take my hunger away. quit for about 3 months my 1st year of college then started again with grizzly mint regulary. i make a can last about 3 or 4 days. im in the habit of doing it on a schedule. before work, on my lunch break, after work and before i go to bed as im gaiming. i just recently decided i was going to quit soon, have not decided when but i have cut back and no longer do it on the schedule or as much as i used to. i have also found that just being able to hold the can itself puts me at ease. ill think to myself that im going to throw a dip in and get my can out but instead of opening it and taking a pinch ill just hold it and distract myself and before i know it im busy working or doing somthing where dipping isnt an option. maybe ill make quiting my new years resolution

i support anyone who has or is trying to quit! good job! i also believe its all mental, which is why just holding a can or knowing i have access to it if i want it helps me alot!!

3" lift, Nitto grapplers on dicks, remote start. Amsoil synthetics and K&N filters... im a simple man really =)
If you start saving $5 a day when your 30 years old. By the age of 60 you'll have saved about $1,100,000 (one hell of a retirement bonus for quitting). That should be enough motivation for anyone. I think thats only if you invest in some type of fund or something... lol

1 can of Cope a day for 9-10 years.

Finally quit 4 weeks ago, cold turkey. Still want to punch someone in the face everyday from the cravings, they haven't got the least bit better yet; still feels like the second day... but I'm fucking done with that shit, no looking back now (just stay out of my way)

I've done all kinds of various quit things, bottom line is that you need to decide to quit and go cold turkey. The problem with not going cold turkey is this: just like drugs, you'll always have to deal with withdrawls as long as you 'dabble' or 'cut back', it's never goin to go away by you just 'cutting back' (granted less is better, but it's not really quitting) you are in a constant state of withdrawl/satisfaction/withdrawl/etc. Might as well just quit cold turkey and have a bear of withdrawls for however long it lasts, just once.

If you are in bad shape, spend a 2months conditiong yoursef before you quit: you'll want to be in good enough shape to bust out 100 pushups or sprint a mile when your cravings make you see red. I've never been so consistanly pissed in my life... I just chanle it into more intense workouts at this point. I literally had to pull over the Taco last week and run around some random block because my road rage was scaring me.

Still, the relief I feel every morning knowing I'm off that shit outweighs any buzz. My chick is stoked, and I'm $aving a lift-kit worth of cash every year.

If I can quit, you can quit.

I'm moving right at the end of the year. Quitting dipping AND smoking will not only be my new years resolution, but my new house resolution. lol.

I've tried a shitton of times before, the longest I could go without either one was 2 days. I'm weak =[ I already hit the gym regularly, so I think this will be my new strategy.

    Absolutely nothing..for now..
I've dipped Copenhagen snuff for the past 6 years..or..make that 5 years and 340 some odd days. I used to go through a half can a day a few years ago. That then moved to 3/4, to a full can, to 1 1/2, all the way to almost two cans a day when I was working in the town's auto shop.

There was a period when I just said f*** it, and quit. Cold turkey. The rest of the day, the next day, and the next, I had no cravings period. Till 8 days later, shit hit the fan, and what do you know, I started again, but straight to a can and a half a day. I've quit here and there for a few days, but never honestly had the desire to, so I'd pick it up a few days later.

If you really want to, you will. Simple as that.

I believe that chantix, nicorette, and all that other crap, just uses the placebo effect.

(Putting in a dip of snuff)

    Quit when you can.
