I had a similar type experience years ago. I special ordered an Ovation 12 string guitar. They said it would take a couple of months to get it done. Long story short after 6 months I was no closer than the day I ordered. After the same kind of nonsense that we see with ktjo aka: a shit show, one year had passed and the poor guy at the music store where I ordered it had passed away. Anyway, one day I get a call telling me your guitar is in. I rushed down to the store and told them to shove it. It was a 6, not a 12 like I ordered. So, I guess we all have a different “shit” threshold. Mine appears to be just over one year of customer relations BS.

I’d be lying if said I hadn’t thought about just canceling. Let folks sort out the gremlins then order if I feel like it’s actually something I want.

I’m curious though- was she more responsive about cancellation? Maybe that’s what I should put in the subject of my email.

How much are these handles? She should get some capital like a legit business (she does have a website) and have them in stock like Meso does.

Never batted an eye about cancellation. I think she only responds to texts during working hours. That’s been my experience. Tried email but no response.

Meso is often out of stock, but he doesn’t do pre-orders, and he doesn’t do wait lists. At best, he does email notice of in stock. But Meso backs his product with communication and confidence.

You know it's fucked up, when the more patient group of people (like a lot of people in here) are pissed off. Most of us are used to waiting a while from suppliers for bumpers and racks, etc. Pretty hard (easy?) To fuck that up haha

Agreed. She replied to one of my Instagram comments about how this was a preorder and they weren’t available the whole year I’ve been waiting... like I’m in the wrong for being frustrated with new orders shipping and her not even reaching out to remedy my 12+ Month old order. I responded that I’ve followed everything including tracking shipping containers and was genuinely excited for the product.

Given any interactions with Meso and his crazy amazing customer service approach (even when he was a one man show)... I'm fairly certain he would definitely have the FIFO approach if he were to ever do a pre-order situation.

Hopefully Katie takes this whole situation and learns from it. Although, I'm betting she'll have way less backers for anything in the future. I'd be curious to see if the HUD is handled better, worse or the same. Thank you Texas for the registration sticker being where her HUD projected, so I didn't bother pre-ordering that.

I noticed she's been very careful to ignore/respond around all comments about new orders going out before real pre-orders.

I waited 42 weeks for a set of sliders, from a projected 12 weeks. Granted, they were a bit custom and I understood the separate challenges the manufacturer was having. But still, I was pretty close to cancelling after a few times after missed deadlines. In the end, very happy with the product even if I had to do some mods upon installation. I knew what I was getting into. I’m trying to take that approach here, but having a hard time with the poor customer service decisions.

I mean, you have ~300 people that have orders that are aged 6-13 months, and website orders go out in 5 days? Pshhhh.

Oh, and something I just considered. It’s possible that TacomaBeast did actually place a large order 6 months ago. I’m not saying that indeed happened, but it’s possible.
