I have a 2008 Tacoma with an aftermarket alarm.

Recently I was stopped at a stop light and noticed that the Viper alarm module was hanging low, so I pushed it up into the under part of the dash, and then the truck simply died with dash light flashing. No response when turning the key. Finally got it tow to the house, and found one of the fuse to module was grounded. Replaced the fuse and now the truck just cranks and does not turn over. I installed a new battery thinking it had a low charge. Manage to start the truck one time, however died when I pressed the brake to put it in gear. Now it just cranks and no start. Noticed that the windows don't go down, the radio is off, the A/c doesn't work, does not go into gear. Checked all the fuses but don't know what else to check. please help.

First I would remove or repair the crappy security system installation.

My guess without looking at it in person would be the 10 Ampere IG1 NO2 Fuse it is in common with all of your issues.

As @Jimmyh has stated, the alarm is probably the root cause issue. But, it could be either the alarm itself or the installation of the alarm. I've seen some mind bogglingly terrible installations of top quality alarm units cause all sorts of problems. If you elect to pull the alarm out, make sure you repair where they hacked into your truck's wiring.

    Thanks all

I changed the IG1 NO2 10 amp fuse and no change.
I will replace all fuses tomorrow but is there anything else I should be checking?

Seems like the path to follow. Note that the viper alarm has been installed in the truck for 10 years now and only now had this issue. will need to find a mobile alarm guy.

Update. It’s the alarm. Moved the module and found some loose wires. Going to have it remove and go back to stock.
Thanks everyone for the great feedback.
