BEFORE the “Karen’s” of the site tell me to do a search... I have been and I’m not finding it. So that being said, I have a new dashcam that I want to hardwire (I have the kit) into the fuse box. My question is how do you know which fuse to use . Only want to dash cam on when the truck is on.
Thank you in advance fellow Taco’s

Does your dash cam not have a parking mode?

Depends heavily on the wiring kit. My kit came with two fuse taps, one for always on and one for car running only. The difference between the two wires tells the cam when to switch between constant recording to parking mode.

The ignition on/off tap I wired into P.Outlet No. 2. I forget at the minute which fuse the always on went to, but that's easy enough to pick one and run with.

Edit: 3rd Gen fuse boxes are way different than 2nd Gens. Worst case scenario, poke around with your multimeter and have fun.

Ok so I have a question. I got the Rexing V1 4K with parking mode for Christmas. Not sure I want to use parking mode since right now I don’t drive a lot with being in school. I got the Rexing install kit as seen in the picture. The red wire is labeled as Alway on, Yellow as Car On/Off and the black as ground. I know I have to change out to a low profile mini fuse, but what do I do with the fuse option (red) that I don’t want to use right away? For example... I want to have the dash cam on only when the truck is running and later down the road convert to using the parking mode. Not sure if I can just cut one wire and tape it off for later, or do I need to hardwire BOTH lines into a fuse? The manufacturing site has no details and it came with no instructions.

UPDATE: After YouTubing for a long while, it looks like both get connected? This allows the dash cam to know when it’s in “drive mode” and when it’s in “ park mode”. Guess I’ll need another low profile adapter to make this work.
UPDATE: ok FINALLY FOUND A LINK that explains the 3-wire set up
