There isn’t quite a lot of videos if any maybe a few with how manual hubs are take off to change cvs. I’ve heard that instead of others who have a axle nut. Apparently we have snap rings. Does anyone else have any images or such on how to take off the manual hub to get to the cv. I really would like not to mess that up lol.

    Posted it tons of times...

The bolts on each of the red studs need to be placed back on, flush with the stud.

Rest a brass drift on the stud/bolt.

Whack the end of the drift with 2 or 3 solid whacks, and the cone washer at the base of the hub body will pop up.

Do so for each one, and once all removed, hub body will come up and out.

At that point, more of the axle shaft will be exposed.

There is a snap ring, depicted by the yellow arrow, on the axle that keeps it from backing out of the spindle.

Remove the snap ring, and the spindle will slide up and off the cv axle.

May as well rebuild your hub while you have it off.

Here's a pic of the manual hub body off my last set; you'll see the snap ring under the grease -

Lower ball joint; I was able to replace my cv axle just by undoing the 4 bolts on the spindle and lbj. The spindle will swivel out of the way if you man handle it.

Just be careful with your brake line.

I've done a mod or two
I just pop the lower ball joint or undo the 4 bolts, either way, tie rod and upper can stay

I believe you can leave the hub bodies on after pulling the dial face and internal components.

I usually carry a brass drift because it's easier to pull the body to get the snap ring off.

Yea cause I have a uniball upper and I think those would be harder to break loose anyways compared to a ball joint
