Yes, I noticed the 2 post above mine... My comment was to know if anyone else has figure out another way to add a driver side handle. I have tried for the longest to get a passenger side handle to play with/modify, but no luck finding one on ebay nor junkyards. There was someone on youtube that has done it but is no longer available (i also post the video here for people to see). Are you coming up with a driver side handle? I haven't seen you thread on it.

No one else as gone as far as KT Jo has, unless you are okay with a paracord version?

    Here is the DAH thread:

Edit: This was my previous best idea that would be a bit asymmetric:

I wouldn’t count on ktjo version for now until I can see them shipped. I’m not doubting her, but this thing is been in production for long months. Again, I’m just asking if anyone else has developed or come up with a solution meanwhile. The holes on both pillars are not the same, perhaps the 2nd gen Tacoma driver side will aligned with the 3rd gen(?)

Am i the only one paranoid about how an aftermarket a pillar cover with the grab handle would react in a crash due the airbag?

Zero worries. It's identical to the passenger side.

I saw a test crash video about a year ago that showed the driver test dummy head barely tapped the handle. I guess the lawyers had them removed. And, it saves a few bucks.

Not going to happen. The airbag will act just like it does on the passenger side. KTJO4x4 took the passenger grab handle and just reversed engineered the dimensions. The delays have been caused by COVID-19 and shipping to and from China.

By the time hers is being shipped, perhaps someone may come up with a quicker or similar solution.

You should remove the passenger side handle. It's like a loaded gun pointed right at your face.

To be fair, early in that thread, ST Trooper was correct that it would take way longer than the optimists and even the patient supporters imagined, but he failed to predict the cluster that is “order fulfillment” now that the handles are real and shipping.

I was one of those patient supporters and defended her on several occasions because I understand the challenges of development and manufacture of a new product. And, covid added extra time into the process. But, when you receive your product mid-Dec and don't follow "first in, first out", don't answer your emails, demand shipping fee a year later, you alienate your initial investors.

Received the Tacoma Driver Side Grab Handle on 1/15/2021 after waiting almost two years. So, using the M6 x 59 mm longer hex bolt with washer I tried to screw it into the 6mm Hole Spring Metal Plate U-Type Clip Nut for almost two hours. NOT happening. I then removed the trim panel and grab handle. Low and behold the nut behind the Spring Metal Plate U-Type Clip Speed Nut came off. From observation this nut was not attached to clip very well. Spot weld? So, I went to Home Depot and got me a Plain Steel U-Type Speed Nut #14. It looks like this https://www.homedepot.com/p/10-24-in-Plain-Steel-Type-U-Speed-Nut-800068/204276062 NOTE: Home Depot online didn't have a picture of #14. 5 minutes I had the M6 x 59 mm longer hex bolt with washer bolted down. Just passing the info in case anybody else had problems.

I did not really notice a difference in the color between the two grab handles. You could use Armor All on both grab handles and it would probably help.
