Interesting. I had no idea they make that and have never seen that in stores. Will have to be on the lookout for it. Previously, I was using their Bug and Tar remover product. Pretty good stuff. Works great.

If you don't mind me asking (I know, impolite to talk about money and all) but what did that deal look like? I love my new Tacoma (2020 TRD OR). But sat in a Tundra while I was waiting for my first dealer service and ... oh ... the extra room ...

Yeah, yeah, I get it. It is not a Tacoma. But the older you get, comfort becomes king.

 

Goo gone just makes things gross

 

After yesterday’s first trail adventure, I started the new year right with a wash and ceramic coat on the truck and wheels.

 

I can't disagree with you. Been using it for years. It is sloppy and takes forever. I actually replaced it with one of those ec0-friendly BBQ degreasers that they sell at Home Depot. Nothing fancy but I spray that on a damp cloth and it does everything that Goo Gone does with no effort and less mess. On the truck I am using the Turtle Wax Bug and Tar Remove but want to check out their sticker remover as well. Good find !

 

The new Tundras look very cool and if i needed more truck than a Tacoma, I'd definitely consider one of them. Congrats. Is there a www.tundraworld.com?

Got my Meso Ultimate Map and Dual Color Dome Lights installed. Also swapped out the Kicker dash speakers. Great mods. I highly recommend all of them.

 

Installed Expedition Essentials 3TPAM with assorted Ram Mounts.

What ceramic product are you using?

 

I've been updating the 2018 OR through 2019 and hit the wall after covid sidelined a few offroad trips with it in 2020 but picked back up through the holidays to start wrapping it up (does modding ever wrap up?) These are a few of the customized mods on top of the typical stuff with suspension/wheels/tires/bumpers. I've been building an auxillary electrical setup to offload all the lighting, onboard air and inverted power I've added.

First is auxillary plug in the dash to route mobile power to the mounts.
As a working photographer I wanted the ability to use existing inexpensive magic arm mounts that are all 1/4 20 threads so with strong magnets and a threaded plate that fits the dash, I can add accessories and have custom power to them. Just requires popping the dash air plate and just loosening the headunit for swapping cables when necessary. I ran power to the new heavy duty 12v port with an add a circuit.

The electrical system is sound with the 130amp alt but running serious current to the back was necessary for expansion and adding an auxillary battery. Went with the Northstar AGM with new securing setup and stainless expansion posts. I have a 2/0 cable on a 200amp circuit going to the empty storage box in the rear of the bed and from there I can add anderson plugs and will have a Blue Sea switch for hard line separation from the auxillary batt box (yet to be made). there will be a CTEK DC-DC charger added. Ditch and front/rear bumper lights are on the starter battery.

I added an LED strip light up on the hood for work under when necessary on the road or in the shop. It's on a heavy duty switch mounte to an aluminum relay mount to the right. There's also a heavy duty switch for the air compressors in the back.
