Where do you have the t harness installed? You say you are running a JBL system so the t harness needs to be at the factory amp and not the headunit.

I have the t harness connect to the factory harness from the jbl amp behind the back seat.

Were you able to figure out the issue? I’m interested in using one as well on my 2021

sadly no luck, emailed Rockford and Idatalink for a solution and followed every step they asked, weren't able to find the issue. Gonna try the Pac amp pro AP4-TY13

The TY13 involves a bunch of wire splicing. I was king to use one until I found that out. :(

Yup I contacted PAC and they sent me a diagram of what to splice for the TY13. I’ll give it go and see

Any chance you could share that info and any directions they gave? I tried to chat with them about it but the person I spoke to was not very clear. I’m more curious than anything else.

Pull all speaker wires off of your amp's outputs, turn amp off then back on, and then try hooking up a test speaker to one of the amp's outputs (any speaker will do).
At that same time do a continuity check to ground on your speaker wires that were connected to your amp (use a multimeter for this). There should be none here.
If you still have no sound, and no continuity to ground, hook the speaker wires back up.
Then use a substitute sound source instead of your RCAs that you have currently plugged in. A 1/8" headphone to RCA adapter works well for this.
If you have sound, then it is something to do with the line out conversion that you are using to get a sound signal.

Yeah, kind of similar directions I got from them. Same picture at least. My whole purpose of wanting to use the PAC was for complete plug and play. That failed. Lol.

So I’m gonna give the Fosgate DSR1 a shot and see what happens. Worst case scenario I’m back to maybe trying the PAC.

Let me know how it goes if you don’t mind. Any pictures would be helpful as well in case I end up having to do the same thing you are.

It sounds like you have an issue with the voltage on the preamp being too weak. You are dealing with a universal unit that has the ability to take speaker wire voltage and drop that down to a low voltage (RCA level .5-4v). The JBL will already be at a low voltage, so dropping it will make for little or no sound. Double check that there are not some settings for using a factory low level input or some kind of gain controls on the Maestro piece.

Didn’t even think of that. But yeah, there should be a switch on the side for high/low. High is for bare speaker wire and low is for RCAs. Flip it according to your setup

So I finally was able to get the dsr1 to work. Turns out I missed a critical step when I was flashing/updating the dsr1. I found out that the jbl speakers are horrible without the factory amp so replacing it is a must.

Are to share what step you missed? Trying to make sure I don’t do the same. Lol.

And yes, I plan on completely removing the stock amp and replacing it with a 5 channel amp.

Ahhhhh. Ok. I’ll definitely keep an eye out for that step. Thanks for pointing that out.

One other question/favor to ask. Are you using the Maestro ATO3 harness to connect the factory wiring (that was in the factory amp) to the DSR1? If so, is there anyway you could snap a few photos of them connected? I don’t have mine yet, it wanted to see them connected so I can “trace” which wires from the factory harness are matching up with which wires from the ATO3 harness.

I’d like to do this because I am needing to replace my tweeter, but I don’t know which color on the stock tweeters is positive and which is negative. If I have the pictures I asked for I can use that, along with the manual for the ATO3 to figure it out.

A straight above picture of the top and and bottom of each harness should work as long as the wires aren’t too tangled. Lol.

Idk if you seen this yet but this is the install guide which shows the wire colors for the t-harness, just scroll down to the Tacoma https://images.idatalink.com/corporate/Content/Manuals/AR-TOY03/ADS-DSR1-TOY03-AR-IG-EN_20200330.pdf
