Ok, I KNOW I am going to get lit up for this- but has anyone plopped a Bazooka tube behind the rear seat in a double cab? I want some low end fill but I am not up for all the work of a custom box, or the HUGE price of a JL Stealthbox. So the lil Bazooka popped into mind. I know it will not shake the truck- don't care- just want a lil thump- not an earthquake. So, after that novel, thoughs? Experiences?

It's going to give you about the same thump as the stock jbl subwoofer option which isn't much.

I had one a long time ago in a 93 Mazda Protege and then it went into my 96 tacoma.

For what it is....it's not bad. It'll definately add a little 'thump' to a weaker sound system especially if you don't want to spend a lot of money.

Granted, that was a long time ago ...so who the hell knows how good/bad they are in todays market.

At a minimum...if you buy one and don't like it, return it or sell it.

not sure of the room you got since I have an access but if you fit a bazooka you could probably fit a kicker truck box which will be an upgrade

Yeah, I had one in the garage from my 4runner, very tight squeeze, the seat barely would close, but it fit. It sits on the pass side. It is the powered model, and yes they are junk, but it was only $90 and I've got 10 years of extra bass. I run it off the stock radio.

If you want a little extra low end consider the Infinity Bass Link. Was easy to hook up and does very good for a small pkg. It won't wake up the neighbors but will definatly vibrate the cab.

You can get some REX8" subs off eBay which aren't going to break your bank as well as being 175w each (350w together) won't sound bad. I did that (gave it to my little cousin though - we both have AC's). If you do end up getting the RE's I would also get some weather stripping to seal the mounting area, BT's only have 4 bolting holes, where the RE's have 8 slots for bolts available).
