Blew an axle seal today that I found after going through anza borrego. And it's making a clunking noise, hopefully I didn't bend the axle or something. Doesn't sound like the drum rubbing, more of a rhythmic clunking sound.

Picked up some limited 4Runner wheels to refinish, any suggestions on color? I’m torn between classic silver, gun metal grey and black....

Where are you in NC? Tarheel Powdercoat in Greensboro did mine for $80 a wheel. I highly recommend paying that instead of sanding/painting them yourself. Been there, done that and it sucked.

    Color is crushed silver.

I’ve got a buddy who is sandblasting them next week. I do things right the first time, rattle can will hold just fine and much much cheaper. Sylva, NC

Mkay. Ive rattle canned a set of wheels before and was never satisfied with the results. Got brake clean on one by mistake and pretty much ruined the finish.

    Prep is really important...
It’s interesting, my experience is the opposite, paid to get professional powder coat on a bumper and it ended up not lasting at all

I spent probably too much time with the prep haha. Took these coroded wheels0625181105.jpg

Wire wheeled, sanded, primed, wet sanded, painted and cleared.

    0709180805.jpg

They looked great. But the duplicolor wheel paint just didnt hold up.

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
Brass wire wheels won’t.. steel won’t if your not too aggressive
