Will you be making a 91+ octane version of this too? I figure if I am paying extra for 93 octane, you might as well run the premium tune with more tuning
Will you be also making a 91+ octane version of this? If so, I will definitely try it.

there is a difference between the 2 octanes (about 20 hp and 10-15ft/Lb of torque). I’m just really acute to the differences since I’ve been running OVtune since 2017. It’s just more refined in the output of power through the curve it seems

    Evening Gents..

Quick Question - Was flashing some changes tonight and on my 2nd flash I got the error that it was unable to complete "Do not turn off" and do you want to "retry" .. I hit "retry" and it completed successfully without issue, but a butpucker minute or so.

This has never happened before, but wonder if this is something that can happen, but resolves on retry or is something going on and Im heading for a failure....

    Truck is on charge
    PC is plugged in
    everything off in the truck

Thanks - Just hopeful this is something that just happens, but you never brick the ECU....

    Best,

    John

Some people in the past have to just keep retrying it, sort of forcing it along. I remember a guy a couple years ago saying he attempted like 50+ times before it was successful lmao

Pretty rare though. I've "soft-bricked" once, but it was a test map I was trying out for Mat, not a final product.

Thanks Marc - Appreciate the response.. Curious to see if this is just something random or there is more to it...

The exact same happened to me... No issue at all, pucker moment, yes, but all is well.

Thanks for the response.. I've been looking through threads and seems someone posted that you cant brick with OVT, but can with Techstream doing a TSB Update.

Curious to know if doing a VFT Flash and it never completes, can you actually shut everything down and start over, or is a no go to shut down without fully completing the flash?

    Thanks,

    John

I have failed a flash before. Turned everything off. Then tried to start it up and the truck wouldnt start. Flashed again, successfully. And luckily everything worked out fine after that.

Thanks brother... Good to know you can shut everything down, restart and flash again and its not soft bricked.

I say allow it to complete...whether with an error or successfully flashed. It will not cause any issues. As happened before, just try a second time.

Which reminds me, time to go reflash another iteration.

Yep - Mine completed just fine with a "retry".. I was just looking for info in the event that after 20 retrys, is there any other option ;)

I’m in to donate gas money for the testing. I’m on @Mooseditty17 M&W GL with 5.29s and 32s and loving it in 87. A 91+ would be awesome.

Check battery voltage. If below 12.1...not easy to flash. I’ve only had this twice, but my voltage was low

Thanks.. Had 12.5 - 12.7 the entire time as I was on the charger. Might change the charger setting to 13V steady when flashing to eliminate any dip..

    Thanks,

That’s plenty high. It’s not the voltage

How long has the additional key turnaround been for you guys? Creeping toward 3 weeks but the holidays definitely aren't helping.

About the same. I needed a new one because my computer got wrecked. He got me a new reg key in a few days, but then it turned out i needed a new masterkey -- been 3 weeks since that.

be sure to check that you are using a 2.0 usb hub on the computer and not the 3.0 hub. I had mine fail and give the same information - then I realized I was using the wrong hub - removed the cable and attached to the 2.0 hub and had no issues - have flashed many times since all using the 2.0 hub and had no issues. I’m a total noob to all of this and could use some help without bugging the ovtune help desk. I was sent the 2.0 Final 04B81 VFT file. I flashed the stock premium thx file. I’ve seen references to 1.5, 1.5.1, 93 octane, and other tunes. The only ones I have in my file are the only ones I can use. Am I missing something somewhere or need more credits? My truck is the only one I’ll be tuning and I really have no desire to modify the tunes I do have as I wouldn’t know what I’m doing. Please help.
