@euroshowoff, do you have any details about the LED indicators you mention above?

I agree, I really like ARB stuff. I'm thinking about the ARB bumper for my 2002 gen 1 taco.

    working on it... :-)
I'm a noob on this forum, but have a lot of (positive) experience with ARB. I put one on my 2000 Jeep Cherokee shortly after buying it in '06. I hit deer with it twice a few years apart; once going just under 40 at night and once at just over 50 in pre-dawn hrs. In both cases nothing happened to my rig or the bumper. The high speed hit was on the right side; big buck (full rack) came outta nowhere. The ARB turned him into a reindeer, flipped him up and over the hood and roof. He came down somewhere behind me on the left. All it did was rub the mud off the bumper. LOL

And after 14 years the bumper looked damn near as good as the day I bought it.
I also NEVER ran my rig through a car wash, not once in all those years. Only in the last couple of years did TINY spots of rust start to appear in nook & crannies of the ARB. Yes, they're expensive... yes, they're heavy and yes, they're not for everyone's tastes. But if you want it and can swing the cost then GET IT!

With that said I do NOT like the looks of the ARB on the Gen3s. Too dang wide. (The Gen1s and 2s look awesome, the Gen2 is almost identical in style to the Cherokee set-up, only raked on the side a bit farther.) I am still agonizing over what to get as a substitute. I am liking the TDK pre-runner front bumper; set up for winch, w/no laser cut-outs and upsized tube diameter. I also like TJM but they don't offer the ARB-clone design for the Gen3. Not yet at least.

Anyhow... ARB is the bomb. And the knowledge that your airbags will not be negatively affected is a HUGE comfort-inducer as well. Cannot say that about most any other aftermarket clip.

I am going to buy a ARB Summit front bumper but I want to paint it to match my truck which is Quicksand. The ARB dealer is telling me his paint guy feels leary about using paint on it and thinks a color coded powder coat would be better but more expensive.

What are you guys doing for matching paint ?

    Thanks in advance, Dog_River

Is this truck going to be used off road? Or never leave the pavement?

Either way, I would definitely color match powder coat. The point of these bumpers is to take the hits we don't want a stock bumper to take. You negate that with normal automotive paint. Also, if it will be used off road, I'd rather keep it black powder coat making it easier to color match it for quick repairs.

I finally made the switch to an ARB, had a Coastal Offroad prior to it and came across a wicked deal.

I guess ARB does not weld a 3/4" D-ring recovery tabs on the bumpers itself as part of their design (almost all of the other manufacturers have 2). Is there a specific reason for this? From some pictures that I have seen, ARB sell a recovery point that seems to install closer to the skid plates.

I'm leaning towards getting ARB bumper for my 2018 Taco as it looks solid for protecting the front of the truck + complete ARB skid plates as I off road. Unfortunately I was hit head on by a reckless speeding Cam Am on the trails and there is no way I'm getting a stock bumper as I get the rig repaired.

I would appreciate any input regarding the D-ring design as mentioned above. Thank you!

From what ive heard is because ARB is in Australia, and there you cant have front recovery points. You can have a winch and their added tow hook, but its not on the bumper.

I always wanted an ARB and I just bought the Coastal until the time was right to buy an ARB. The Coastal is definitely a heavier bumper than an ARB btw.

Looking to pick an ARB up soon. Anyone have spring suggestions for running an ARB bumper (without a winch) on a 2011 2.7 Access Cab, 4x4? I currently have Bilstein 5100s set at 1.75 on stock springs and looking to maintain around 2” of lift with good ride quality. I’m worried OME 886 would raise it over 3” without a winch, so maybe 884 or 885s?

    3" lift? A.R.E cap 285/70/17 moto metal 955 17x9

I have a TMJ bumper which is about the same as ARB, I have 5100's with 885's for about 2" of lift which rides good.

Remember that with OME springs you have to put the clip in the bottom groove on the 5100's.
