    Hey guys,
I’m new to the Tacoma world, so be easy! I’m looking to give my truck a lift. Any recommendations on lift kits and if I need a new suspension and prices you all paid for?
    thanks !

You do not need a new suspension if your truck is brand new...
The best thing to do is go explore the areas you plan to play and then see what, if any, mods are needed to get there. I drove an stock SR5 for 7 years and went everywhere I needed. Now I want to explore new areas and ended up upgrading the suspension based on what I needed for those situations.
    good luck and have fun!

What's a hobby that you're REALLY into? Hunting, shooting, sports, model airplanes, etc...?

Now, in that hobby, what's the best version of product "X"?

I'm sure you know, but that question and answer is VERY subjective. The only way to know what the best product is, is to explore the options, your needs, and your budget.

As others have suggested, use your truck to determine your needs and it's limitations. After that, research the hell out of it. TW is an amazing resource and nearly every conceivable question has been asked and answered. Search our vast archives... it's there.

Coming soon: Compact powered sub install Future mods planned: bigger tires (265/75/16) BILLSTIEN 5100 lift
I been looking at a lift and tires as a future mod. I'd say you need to know how agressive off road driving you plan to do. How much lift you want and how much you want to spend.
Could be a simple OME and Bilstien 5100 kit for less than a $1000 or a kings set up for several times that cost

Base it on your needs IMO. NOT how cool it will look on Snorkagram!!! That being said my 2cents Bilstein 5100’s /aal - eibach stage 1 kit Great budget lifts for daily and weekend warrior. You have money then you can really step it up King , Fox , etc.

My answer is based on ownership of multiple Toyotas with OME, All-Pro, Bilstien, Toytec, Radflow, Fox, and King.

Lifting becomes a massive headache and a huge disappointment if you don’t spend the money upfront and define your needs early on. If it’s for aesthetics, just don’t lift it.

If you will be taking this off-road 2x a month on fire roads and desire larger tires for ground clearance, check out a full Dobinsons kit for a high quality economical option. Or front Fox 2.0 (non-external resis) with Fox 2.0 rear shocks and Deaver or Dobinson standard leaf packs.

Kings are just outstanding on the trail and hold up to corrosion very well.

I don’t want to bash any particular brand, but I’m not mentioning the performance of those I listed in the beginning for good reason.

    Welcome OP!

As others have and will suggest, it depends on your application.

    - What's your budget?
    - What do you need or want it to do?

If you want aesthetics and/or more clearance for bigger tires, or if you're on a tight budget, a puck/spacer lift will be fine. Neither your ride quality nor your performance will improve, but your social media might.

If you want actual, real performance gains, a true suspension will not come cheap.

Bear in mind, if you increase your suspension height beyond 1.5-2 inches, more things need to be changed out - from wheels to UCAs to smaller components. It's not something to be done lightly.

As others have said, it depends on your budget and what you want to do with it. That being said, I really like the King 2.5 setup.

Welcome! While you're searching best lift kits also search ECGS bushing, driveline vibration, steering wheel shake, and are my front end alignment numbers correct. I know I missed several others BUT when you lift a vehicle from stock you run into other issues....NOT as simple as just asking what is the Best Lift Kit!!
