I'd also rename the Tacoma. The new name will be Pequeño Mule.

I'm on my 5th Tacoma and I believe that Toyota pretty much has all the bases covered with their current offerings in the Tacoma lineup. But there's one thing that has bothered me about the 2nd Gen & 3rd Gen trucks: the cab is just difficult to get into and once settled in the seat, I'm sitting too low and the seat travel is still not allowing me to stretch my legs out. So, I would like the cab redesigned as it's been the same since 2005. I owned a 2002 Tundra for awhile, and it's cab design was much better than the Tacoma IMHO. Only my opinion folks.

Just like the Tacoma has a TRD: Sport and Offroad, I would like a "TRD WORK" It would come with at least one more leaf spring, factory installed brake controller, and an engine with good low end torque. Other than that, the Tacoma, in general, could use a higher gross weight rating. As far as the current frame design goes, I have had as much as 2500 lbs in the back of my truck and as much as 1300 lbs tongue load without any negative results. The Tacoma is actually built pretty tough as it is. If they build the Tacoma to be more like a car... give me an option that keeps it a truck. "TRD WORK"

Remote start, and locking tailgate as standard. Better rearend gearing, as well. I've wanted a Tacoma for over 10 years, and always loved to look at the modified Tacomas that came through the Overland Expo Show East in Asheville NC over the past 7 years that I worked it. Other than that, I personally can live with my 2020 as it is for a long time: I love my white DBCB, LB Off Road, and putting on a Leer cap just made it better. Other modifications over time, to follow.

Keep the looks rugged and squared off and offer an engine with tq north of 300lb-ft at 3k rpms or less paired with a 6spd manual or competent 8spd auto.

No other choice......LOL Love mine. I looked at how much I go off-road and where I go and the AWD is more than enough. I had a few Tacomas and I have switched to the Honda for many reasons, Toyota Service is one of them. The ride, MPGs, Double opening tailgate and more.

Technically (including the engine, and interior tech, Heated wheel, Remote start, The Honda Link System, rear seat area, and more, The Tacoma is way behind the 8 ball,

All Toyota’s have remote start as of 2020.
Press the lock button on your key fob twice within 3 seconds then press it a third time and hold it down. The hazards should blink like 10 times then start. It’ll stay on for 10 minutes or until you unlock it (which is pretty annoying IMO).

This is not true. My 2020 does not have this Easter egg. You have to have the tech package I believe to unlock this super power.

I’d offer three distinct options. 1 a pure performance edition lowered, tuned for cornering, a powerful v8 engine, benchmark the competition and make it better than anything available now. 2 an off road version again benchmark the competition and make it superior and include diesel option. 3 make the Casper milk toast version like what’s currently available, it competes with ridge line and performs like a mini van. Now everyone is happy the people that want to haul ass, the off-roaders and the soccer mom types whose wives keep his nuts in her purse.
The first two option packages would come with pussy magnet as standard equipment

I didn’t realize. My bad. When I bought my Tacoma, it was the only one at the dealership, so I didn’t have any say in the tech package.

I don't know why people think the Tacoma needs a V8 and needs to get bigger. If anything it needs to shrink back to the size of a 1st gen.

How fat are some of you? How fat are your girlfriends and wives that you need V8 level power to climb the slick parking lot apron at Costco?

Our new 3500 at work has that corner step on the bumper and one at the front of the bed by the cab.

Maybe I'm weird but I still use the built in step all trucks come with: IMG_20180801_101135.jpgIts round and it's rubber and it's the perfect height!

How could I forget? 4th gen needs a flare side option, or I think before the flare side there was the fleet side.

I'll share my unpopular opinion too -

Toyota should start with this truck, update it with what has come to be expected in modern trucks, and make it 100% battery electric. I've purchased my last ICE vehicle. For me everything from here on out will be a BEV. I've done the research and IMO most of the complaints come from big companies fear mongering because they stand to lose money with BEV adoption.
