Bummer man! Not sure about the clunking noise, but you can check for bent axle in the side view mirrors - just look to see if the wheel is tracking smoothly/evenly/not wobbling when you're at highway speeds.

Swapping the seals (and you should do the bearings at the same time) isn't hard but requires some special tools. Totally worth it though, I still saved a ton of money over taking it to a shop.

Here's a Step-by-Step Replacing Rear Axle Seals guide with links to the various parts and tools needed, and here's the story (with pics of the job) the day I did it. Those two things together can give you a sense of the work.

Those are great wheels. I got the same ones and spent a couple days prepping and rattle-canning them myself; turned out great - though definitely a lot of work.

For me, wheels are something that get scraped up pretty quickly. Any paint job - rattle can or powder coat - is lucky to last more than a few trips before rock rash renders it "noticeably used." That's the main reason I decided to go rattle-can instead of powder. At least that way, I know it's easy to touch up and get a good match.

Here was my write-up of the process. Would have been much easier if I had a buddy to do the sand blasting and prep, hahahaha!

Here you go. I replaced the foam weatherstripping with Home Depot foam and rubber tapes. I drilled holes in the bedliner and unfastened the liner to install the hooks from the back side.

Nice, I was just wondering if it’d fit my truck how I need it to, but I don’t think it will

I still keep my battery zip tied to the inside of the fender, even though I fixed the OEM battery tie down. It worked itself loose once on the trail and let my battery slide around causing the tie down strap to contact the terminals...that was fun.

If it happens again at least I'll hopefully catch it before the zip ties break. Need to order that aftermarket tie down that the TW member on here sells, or get me an aftermarket battery tray

I need to do this, it would be nice not to have to buy a press

    Friend with one?

Really, the press isn't very expensive at all (if you have room for it), and I've been surprised how many other things it has made much easier/how versatile it is. Even with the press and other "special" tools for the job, it still ended up costing me about half what taking it to Toyota would have cost. (granted, in a high cost of living area)

Sometimes, it’s the little things. Installed a command hook for my masks and the iPhone cord. Got sick of hanging my mask on the mirror.
