I like Merrill's but I have wide feet so Keens it is. And they are treating me well.

72 mi hiked this year and still going strong. Maybe this year I'll make 100 mi hiked. I was on track til about October and kind of simmered out

@xtremewlr has them too lol. Noticed when we were in Moab in October.

Mine are the waterproof version (I assume yours are too), just a heads up though the waterproof feature doesn't last very long.

Its not bad but mine are a couple years old now and if I'm in the snow for a little while you can start to feel it coming through

You got fat feet or something lol? I have ridiculously narrow feet so they work great, Merrell and Vasque fit narrow feet really well

Yeah, my decade+ old clearance rack Lowas had the soles fall apart last time I wore them, and the trail running shoes i've been slumming it with the last 2 years are almost worn smooth  It was time.

Its not real far out of town, a riverside trail that interesects an abandoned rail line. Still have all the rail up there too. Usually its got a ton of people, but on a snowy day like this I had it all to myself. Nice and quiet.

Idk, I just found Salomon to fit me better, especially when my feet would swell on backpacking trips.

It had rained and there was a ton of mud today so I wore a pair today.

Also KO2’s suck. I almost went sideways in the rain because my truck just slips and slides everywhere when the road is just slightly damp.

I had to ask for the wide version, which wasn't really a surprise.

Back in the day I wore narrow everything. Then one time I ended up with a shoe too wide and my feet seem to have taken a liking to the extra space - so now its wide shoes all the time

My dad loves Solomons, only brand he gets now. He gave me a pair that were new that he decided he didn't want for some reason but they're a size too big on me, wearing hiking boots that are too big definitely defeats the purpose of a good hiking boot lol.

Sucked too because they were a $250+ pair, nicely built

Then again, in the military, even the short lived Oakleys were better than the Bates we were forced to buy.

It wasn't until my last tour when I was attached that I got to wear Salomons which I fell in love with.

Yeah the gore tex boots have a limited life on the waterpoofing. I think there are ways to re-up it with a spray or whatnot, but I don't usually bother.

Well a half size up is normal, as you know, cause your feet swell.

They're definitely pricey, but last a long time. I always try to find a deal paired with my military discount when I need a set.

I brought two pairs when we were at Moab.

What kinds of beers do you like?

For some reason I thought it was only vodka redbulls for you

I've always just been an 805 fan, and sometimes enjoy a New Castle.

Aside from that, not a beer drinker but these beers I got from a brewery around my girls house are really good.

So I guess, just learning good beer after having consumed many a cheap beer all my life?
