what fixed/helped your driveline vibes?

yeah, probably need a lower drop for a long bed double cab vs. a regular cab

 

so 3/8'' worked good for that? it's close enough to the 1/2'' difference. is the one on fat bob's the same OME one on toytec? it shows two spacers, so is each one 3/8''? just want to make sure that i and others are going to get the right thing.

 

Which way are they supposed to go in? I fear I may have done the same thing

 

Yeah, the one at Fat Bobs is the same thing as at Toytec, except Fat Bobs didn't want $55 to ship it to me in Canada! Give it a try and let me know how it turns out. loosen both bolts just enough (3/8" or so) and take out one bolt and slip the spacer in, and then the new bolt. Repeat on the other side, and ensure everything is all straight and not cocked in any way. Tighten the bolts to 30 ft/lbs.

 

alright. and just sticking those spacers in and tightening back up took away most of your vibes? i just wonder why some people's vibes actually got worse? and if it does take most of them away, but not all of them, try the shims?

 

Every truck is different...what worked for me may not for you, but for $11 it's worth a try, right? You might have to do some testing to find what works 100%, or you might get lucky like me.

i have that same 30-40 mph pulsation that the OP has. Just ordered a 3/4" drop bracket from Beefed. 2" up front and no rear lift, vibe started when the temperature dropped. Anyone else have good experiences with the CB drops?

 

If you have no rear lift then a CB drop isn't going to do anything, because you haven't done anything to change the rear driveline angles. You only lifted your front, so your problem is most likely coming from the front (i.e., front diff bearing, assuming you have 4x4). Otherwise one of your U joints is toast and needs to be looked at and possibly replaced.

 

Wow, alot of good info... but I'll add if any of you that are experiencing an unusual (but not severe) vibrations that seem to originate from the drive line I implore you to invest in a good lube job hitting anything that has a grease ZIRK on it before considering the "maybe its this or that " mind set. Reason I say this is because so many post regarding wierd vibes I've advised alot of members on this very simple, very cheap & very neccessary maintenance routine & I'd say almost 2/3's responded with positive results eliminating most or all vibration issues.

I mean its easy, cheap & something you should do anyway on a regular basis & if it fixes the issue GREAT !! If not it prolly needed it anyway....
