    The Bars are 50” wide, I have them spaced to be about 3 feet apart, they’ve worked great for kayaks and snowboards!

    Hey, and Happy New Year!

    has anyone mounted their canopy by drilling through the rails? I’m trying to prevent mine from shifting while off roading. I also know the warranty may be voided but I’m willing to live with that too.

    It seems to shift rearward. I’ve loosened the mounts and remounted, double nutted, and tightened everything. It seems stable but I plan to do much more this coming season than last season regarding overlanding, etc.

    I have short bed, my topper doesn't shift. I haven't done any drilling.

    If you have 6ft bed, then it may or may not shift.

    My friend has 8 ft bed. It shifted badly. He won't go off roading anymore.

    I have this done on my 1st Gen. It is just 4 cornered due to how low the windows are but I do plan on removing it soon to reseal it and add an additional bolt mid bedrails. So far so good with probably close to 60k miles and some of them quite brutal.
