That is the conclusion I came up with as well! The ATX just run a little bigger.

That for sure could be it. I thought the Method zero offset meant that the wheel and tire stuck out further from the frame thus limiting the contact it would make however I am for sure not an expert either. The whole reason I wanted to upgrade to the Methods is to get the Bead Grip Tech. I like going down to 15psi and the ridges built into the inside of the rim give me a bit of extra confidence going over obstacles. I am not so worried about popping a bead.

Very good! Actually so have the General's I have on my rig! I am truly amazed how dropping the air down to 15 or 16 psi and the Tacoma just wants to take on anything! Very impressed! And for you snow wheeling is not easy!

I think if I ever got new wheels I’d go the same route but I will say if the bead grip is the ONLY reason you’d be buying new wheels then don’t bother. I’ve been wheeling for 15 years and never popped a bead. I always ran load range C 33x12.50 on a 15 inch rim on my Jeep. God knows that has plenty of flexible sidewall and I’ve never lost a bead, even at 12-15 psi. If you want new wheels then in my opinion the bead grip is just a little extra thing you get with it. I plan on running my factory OR wheels as long as possible.

Oh that is good to know! Thanks for sharing from your experience. You have for sure been wheelin a lot longer then I have. Part of it was aesthetics. I wanted the bronze wheels, with bronze sliders, and bronze rear bumper skid. Plus the methods were like 20% when I bought them so it was a really good deal! Plus all that kinda ties into the fde Softopper.

I’m all for that, believe me, I’ve spent my fair share on parts over the years. I plan on doing up my truck at some point but I’ve actually really been enjoying it stock. Just waiting for my stockers to wear down a bit more and I’ve got some 265s waiting to be put on. Really the limiting factor of this truck, even modified, is really just body damage in my opinion.

You are right that is a tough one! With the long wheel base especially on a LB and so much tail stickin out damage is going to happen. Pro tip tho that rear bumper skid by WarFab saved my ass two days ago while I was out exploring Last Chance Cyn in Ridgecrest,CA. I drove down the "Graduation Hill" section and slammed my back end off a ledge. The skid took a hard hit but the bumper is fine. I sure would like a HC rear bumper I can see how useful that is!
As far as running the truck stock. I have tried not to jack it up too high and keep it relatively at stock height and I bought this rig used so I never had a chance to try the stock tires. The previous owner had already put 265/75's on her. They were Atlas Priva AT's.

What size wheel is that? 16x8? I just lifted my truck and debating on keeping the 265 and put a wider wheel or jump to a 285/70/17
