Not to butt in on the conversation, but from what I understand its not recommended you use the OLL with the HS 3 leaf AAL. Not sure why but I read about that. They do now make a 1/2" flat shim to use in place on the OLL to give an extra 1/2" lift in the rear. I recently ordered their 3 leaf AAL with the flat shim but I'm waiting on my Eibach lift before installing. I won't be adding a topper or weight to the rear so I know my needs may be different than others. The one thing I really like about the newer HS 3 leaf AAL is that the installation doesn't require cutting the band off of the stock springs so that if you want to go back to stock it can easily be done. Anyway, just wanted to mention this in case others weren't aware of it.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Keep your overload leaf, you will regret not having it. Just as Jonathan mentioned above. There is simply no reason why you shouldn’t/couldn’t throw the OLL back in the pack. I roll with a trailer and sometimes a dirt bike. With out that overload, my ass would be screwed.
I have maxed out my current springs, but the OL has helped me get some use out of them.
With that being said, I will be keeping all my springs should I ever want to lighten my load.

Thanks, the OL off either set would be great if these folks didn't talk you out of giving them up. I'll shoot you a pm.

I didn't know they started making the 1/2" shim, I may just go that route, basically a 1/2" block (which nobody makes). For $30 shipped with new center pins, probably a good place to start, and a slightly easier install than the OL

haha, no worries. I think I'm going to order that 1/2" headstrong shim for now, only $30 shipped it may do the trick.

33k on the truck. But they've been pretty heavily loaded for 6 months or so of constant load.

Thanks man, I just ordered the 1/2" shims mentioned above (that I wasn't aware of), so I'm going to try that first.

Yeah that's something new they just started making. I wanted a little extra height in the back so I was excited to see that and ordered it with my 3 leaf AAL. Can't go wrong with the price either. They said I also needed the center pin head lengtheners so I got that as well. Just a heads up.

Anybody interested in buying my DV8 roof rack? Looking to go a different direction. I've had it for about a year and a half with zero complaints. It's in near perfect condition. Make me an offer. Paid $500 new. Rack is in my profile pic.
