Stopped at a Pilot for snacks in Junction. Still got 390ish miles to go

Yum...I need a good and easy biscuits and gravy recipe... the ones I've made are just...meh

Junction is nice. I've been to that gas station and called at the KOA campground there.

1 lb ground sausage
2 tbs garlic powder
2 tbs onion powder
4 tbs butter (half a stick)
1/3 cup flour
2 cups whole milk

Cook sausage in bacon grease on medium heat. Add 2 tbs of garlic powder and add 2 tbs of onion powder during the browning process. When sausage is cooked, Add half a stick of butter. Melt completely and add 1/3 cup of flour. Mix ingredients evenly on medium-low heat. Once mixed, add enough of the milk to get the thickness desired. Also, seasoning can be adjusted to taste. (Sometimes I add 1/2 cup of shredded cheese for a little extra Yum)

Today, I added 2 tbs of chili powder, 1/2 pound of shredded cooked bacon and 1/2 cup Mexican blend shredded cheese.

 

Not bad for fluxcore on 110.

That one Beretta posted looks good. Here is what I do.

I cheat and use pilsbury biscuits. Never have been able to make my own well.

Fine chop 1/2 an onion and toss it in the pan over medium heat. Add 1 lb of your favorite sausage, season to taste with whatever you want based on sausage. Cook until sausage starts to brown, breaking into smaller pieces as it cooks. I normally add 1 TBS of flour per cup of milk. 3 TBS flour, add to the sausage and stir to incorporate. Pour 3 cups of milk to the pan, turn to medium high and stir until it just starts to bubble, turn down to medium low, and stir until it thickens to your liking. Cut biscuits in 1/2 and pour a serving spoon of gravy over each 1/2. Eat too much and sit on the couch the rest of the day.
