I think the MPG’s are better than the 2.0 I was on. Ran the M&W for a tank commuting to work. And the MPG on my instrument cluster was usually 1 MPG better give or take. Did one longer trip on M&W and noticed a big improvement on a slight drawn out uphill section where 2.0 would stutter/hesitate a bit and M&W was smoother on the pull. Netted about the same MPG’s on that trip 2.0 Vs. M&W however the power transfer was much better.Nice and smooth.
I flashed DaCruiser on Friday. Not sure how to explain it but I think it feels a lot different than M&W. Better. (Note: I stopped resetting values after flashing a long time ago. Don’t like driving for tanks to have it relearn) Not a huge fan of the tip in though. That being said by a guy who supplemented with a Sprint Booster on all of Mat’s Tunes to get the Tip in more aggressive. It’s very touchy on initial take off and the part that really kinda bothers me is trying to hold a steady 45-50mph thru town. It will feel a bit jerky. However, I have the ETC always on mod and all of this is based off of ETC being On. With ETC off it’s very tame and manageable. I’m too lazy to push the button. A way too lazy to tear my dash apart to disconnect the always-on.
I also used my cruise yesterday. Horrible 50mph wind with heavy rain. It’s the normal CC not the fancy one and everything was fine. shifted when it needed to and wasn’t excessive but I didn’t hit any big hills. Pretty flat rolls farmland. The cruise on my truck has worked well with every tune including stock.

As for now I’ll keep running DaCruiser for a few tanks. Might even disconnect my ETC always on so the pedal feels a little friendlier.

Thank you for creating the Tune. I like it.

I’m thinking about going from 265/75/16C to 285/75/16E. How difficult is it to change the tune from 32” to 33”. Would it really matter or?

    Happy NewYear!

Thanks for the feedback, glad you’re liking it. It’s easy to change tire size, but for that small of a change I’d leave it. I run 32.6” with this tune.
I’m getting a little better gas mileage than I was with m+w and was just wandering if everyone was.

I would definite try it with ETC off! Having it on at all the time is affecting the way this tune is set up to run.

You can easily tone down the tip in on ECT. Just copy the S mode throttle maps into the normal throttle maps. (Normal throttle maps are for ECT)

MY question does torque converter locking work the same? Locking torque converter 4th 1-4 for ECT?? Locking torque converter 4th S1-S3 for regular shift??

    Not sure.
Maybe @Mooseditty17 or @ForceOfG or @Vlady can answer that.

I'm interested, but like most forums it takes 2 days to search thru the garbage to find

    a) who actually knows what they are talking about
    b) what all the catchy little acronyms mean
    c) the latest/greatest vetted tune for 04B04...it may not function on a 04C20...correct?

Like what the heck is GL? (gear lock, I get that...but is a reference to holding a particular gear for a specific load?)

Good thread, fellas. I'm a fan of drilling through the fluff.

Can someone point me towards 04B33 stock tune file. I tried the M+W 04B33 tune, and would like to go back to stock.
I have requested more credits from OV so I can unlock B33, but I don't know how long that will take. Was wondering if anyone had a vft file.

Could one copy the values from the Premium file and Regualr files and paste them in Notepad++ and use the comparison function?

I don't have vfTune yet, but it seems plausible until its fixed.

Then I'd suggest you start thinking more along the lines of the UTEC :)

I'm with you- the under 4k torque curve for this engine tells me something wonky is going on, and I'm likely not going to be the one to solve it without a chassis dyno and more road tuning time that I want to spend on a daily driven truck.

But I'll gladly throw in my gearhead .002, lol.

This is the stock Toyota file, not stock vF 2.0 file, if that's what you're asking about.

I'm so glad you said that- it makes sense why my truck (2021 AT) drives so freakishly well in ECT around town, and horrendously in cruise between 48-70mph.

You know- folks like you and others here are why between 2002 and 2006 Subarus went from spinning rod bearings and grenading engines to making huge safe power. Collaboration and open-source is where it's at.

    Thank you all.

I made it home to my laptop to make a few very minor changes to DaCruiser tune. I also fixed a couple maps that were not copy and pasted and I made a premium file for those that wanted that. Thanks to those who gave me feedback---keep it coming! @uploadadventure could you update the first post (sorry!)
Here is version 2.0----Regular octane and Premuim octane. I will update the original post with this version.

Sounds great but I don’t have VF Tuner, I only have VF Flash. What changes did you make to DaCruiser 2.0?

I lowered the 5-6 upshift just a few mph and lowered the 4-5 downshift by just a few mph. I didn't want to make a drastic change, but feedback and during my personal driving, I felt these two needed a little tweaking.

If you want me to make a file for you with milder ECT Tip in, let me know. I can make your ECT tip-in like the no ECT tip-in real quick.
