I learned something new today....I had no idea acorns fell this late in the year (or early in the year I guess). Did a super quick scouting trip this morning (when I climbed down) because I heard some blujays going crazy a couple hundred yards west of me. I found this area that's roughly 40 yards × 40 yards that was completely tore up with deer sign. Deer poop, tracks, cracked acorns; it looked like hogs had been in there but there's no hogs in the area. Anyhow, thats where I set up this afternoon, in a small patch of oaks in the middle of a CRP field. 3 bucks came in at 4:15, all of them were roughly the same size so I shot the closest one.

You let me know when you’re ready and I’ve got about 160 acres of land in Texas where you’re welcome to kill as many as you’d like.

My kid had a turtle sandbox when he was about 3, that's the lid to it. When my wife saw it catching deer blood the first time she was less than impressed. But I was like, "who puts a lid on a sandbox?" We never did buy sand for that turtle.

Made the 90 minute trip to bass pro because I couldn't wait any longer. Got some arrows and a release. Went to archery range in my neighborhood and had some fun as the sun was going down.

Gonna have to sit down with the wife and explain to her where I'll be most days now.
