If this is on the truck battery I would have to ask why. The reason is hot all the time would be better maintained on a separate circuit without the risk of something draining the battery and leaving you stranded. In a perfect world it would not be a problem. This is not a perfect world. The truck's various modules already have parasitic draws on the truck system in ma's so why risk it?

I installed one with a breaker and a low voltage disconnect, but for some reason I have a parasitic draw. I'll start pulling fuses to see if the LVD is the culprit, or if it's one of my other accessories.

 

I have a lil bro lean since the cargo basket and gas. Empty though its level front and back.

Im saving up for heavy duty dakars since I want to add a cap and rtt. Dakars would be great for towing too.

Only thing I'd be concerned with is light output on the backup lights. Based on crashnburn's testing, LED replacements don't usually work well in halogen housings.

I may be wrong but I thought his thread focused on headlamps. The reverse lights are insanely bright. Much brighter than the incandescents.

I like amber turn signals because they are safer. I also prefer LED lights on signals, brake, etc.

 

Fyi, the RMAS system is adjustable so if you get a bigger boat you can can increase the spring tension accordingly.

 

I have that exact set up and did add relays and switches for each. So far it works, but I’ll be adding timers to each that will shut off power to the load in the even each or any is left on longer than 60 minutes, this is especially important for the bed lights if switched on by accident during the day light.

First question is if you disconnect the battery from the fuse box, how will the security module work? Remote start, key fobs, gps and heaven knows what else. You going to flip this switch each time you go to the truck?

Those little timers are super handy! Great idea too!

 

Those circuits you mention all stay on the OEM fuse cluster. The additional 6-banger is for add-ons as such.
