Also since the wiring is just to control switches to relays, the wire gauge can be very low. I used 18 ga, but probably could have gone 20 or 22 even. Not that a bundle of those is without any diameter, it is minimal even with the two layers of wire loom I used. I did conduit and wire wrap. and that was no problem.

I saw in another thread someone asked about ethernet cable, which I think is basically what all these switch panels use. It was an intriguing idea, but maybe a gauge or two low.

Ethernet (cat6) can be okay. Cat 6 can be 22 which would be okay for energizing relays. But, as you may know, not all cat 6 is 22ga, it can be 26...which in my calculations would have been too low. I also tend to go larger on wire gauge, I prefer the safety being the fuse, not the wire.

Thursday is going to be a good parts delivery day.

For them to sit in my old shop and collect dust while my bumper wait stretches on.

Well, the winch showed up yesterday. Put it straight in the back of the truck so I wouldn't have to answer awkward questions. :spy:

Light will be here today, polarizing filter for the head unit as well. Maybe. Bumper is still whatever. It's cold as fuck right now anyway.

I'm really interested in that winch. I've been looking at the Comeup brand of winches, but I'm having a hard time stomaching the sticker price.

A few things made me purchase: ability to shift the control box, so I don't have to cut the middle support brace. Wireless remote, synthetic line. Starting to wonder if I made a mistake not going with the access holes on the bumper, though. Trying to wind it back up might be a slight issue.

I don't think they've even started on it. Thing is though, the access holes I'm not sure would help me anyway. It's more for releasing the clutch.

Might have to end up taking the grille out for easier access to wind the line back up after the end of the day. Not a huge deal, going to let it ride and see how it goes.

Haven’t started yet? That’s a bummer. True about the access. And hopefully you won’t need it so often it becomes a pain.

I haven't seen them approach my order number in the ones they are working on in their Instagram stories.

Really, I hope I never have to use my winch at all. I needed a front recovery point, so I decided to spend a bit more and get a bumper that was winch compatible. Then figured I might as well actually have one from the jump.

Well, I will use it at least to practice. I might also use it to bring my old workshop down, if I can rig it so I'm not inline with the truck.

Makes sense to me. Better to have it they say.
