BMW N20 . I specialize in European cars and I work on more bmw’s then anything I hate them. Audi/vw 2.0t gas engine is a very close second but bmw’s n20 takes the cake! Garbage!

Based on what I see in the shop anything made by Chrysler in the last 10 years, GM front wheel drive platforms especially later models, and most euro cars. Asian vehicles (Toyota, Honda, Subaru, etc) seem to be the most reliable.

2020 Tacoma TRD OR, been to the dealer 7 times in 5 months and they can’t fix it, this includes a 1992 Mercury Capri XR2 and a 2013 Jeep JKUR.
The truck runs good and the problems are minor, but it been this way since new and it still been into the shop more than any other vehicle(s) I have owned new. I think Toyota could fix it if they would replace some parts, but that doesn’t seem to be in their plan, I have been told they are waiting for a program update. But if they know that’s the problem, way do I keep getting asked to bring it in and checking stuff like wiring?

I guess I've been pretty lucky.
'71 Nova - I came out of a store and put my foot one the clutch pedal and it didn't come back up. Popped the hood and the rod for the
throwout had gone right thru the fork. I put a 1/4 to 1/2 inch socket adapter between the rod and the fork and drove it that way until I got rid of the car.
'71 Cutlass - Fuel pump quit. A buddy brought a pump to me and after I put the pump in, I discovered the fuel line fitting was the wrong size.
While we pondered the situation, we "smoked a bowl". As we were passing the pipe back and forth, I realized that the fitting I needed was part of the pipe (that was
about 40 years ago - I have been rabidly anti-drugs for many years).
Same car - Lost oil pressure on the way home from work. Motor locked up solid. Put a $150 junkyard motor out of a '74 in it. That would have been about 1980.

Oh wait.. GF at the time had a clean 4 dr Buick that had low oil pressure. One day I saw it by the side of the road. Turns out a rod put a fist sized hole in the block.
Swapped in a junkyard motor (that her mother bought) in an unheated garage with no electricity, in NJ, in January, using 12V drop lights. Not fun.

    Yeah, those were the days.

Had two dodge Cummins. Best trucks I ever owned, wife drives a 17 tahoe, very nice solid vehicle. No issues. No cracks pops nothing. Pulls a trailer as good as my last Cummins.

One of the best things about it was you could push start it by yourself, which was routine thanks to its anemic 6 volt electrical system.

Sadly only ran 5 months out of the year I owned it because I couldn’t afford to pay thousands on repair bills and it just had to sit

Now that I’m in a better place I wish I would’ve kept it, I had plans to make it a 400hp coupe with a bed that ran from the trunk to the dash for a road going, fast cross country traveling car

My reliable money pit was a mostly reliable 04 Volvo XC70. I could have thrown money at it and never “fixed” it 100%.

The last straw was the ECU was starting to come unsoldered and limping home once a week or so

I like them. Are you just talking about diesel maintenance or are you having problems?

2002 Nissan Altima. Biggest piece of $#|+ I’ve ever owned, also the first and last Nissan I will ever own. It was in the dealer service center nearly every month from the first month we purchased it till the end of the 36 month warranty. Traded it in for a Toyota Camry and have owned nothing but Toyota’s since.
