I've never seen mine that high. I monitor quite a bit too.

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
This doesn't sound right. After 30min of moderate driving (70+mph and climbs), I'm at 190. Thats using ScanGauge and confirmed its accuracy with Techstream. Something is not right either with your oil, temp sensor or OBD Fusion.

@Jowett Did you ever add a manual transmission cooler or an external engine oil cooler to your truck? If so, could you share the details? Thank you.

I agree. I'll invest in a scanguage to provide me with another read source. What does your Techstream setup entail? Windows laptop/app license?

I am in process on both items, and will share all info as they come together.

As for temperature, the pan should provide an adequate source for an infrared gun. Otherwise, for a stand alone guage, you could tee into the stock oil pressure sensor on top of the filter housing.

TS software is readily available here on the forum. You will need a laptop w/ W7,10 (or a Mac) and the Tactrix connection interface. Post #1 here will get you everything you need, including flash files of recent discussion. You can then communicate with the vehicle and get the aforementioned displays as to what TS allows for functionality.

Feel free to share the cooler part #s for the manual trans. I see the engine oil cooler link that you shared in your build post. Thank you for this. Also, I appreciate your thoughts on adding a T to the existing sensor and installing a separate gauge. Would be cool if someone made a BLE low power Bluetooth sensor that you could read right from your phone with no wiring. Could be used by dealers to help test/calibrate the oil temp sensor.

Thank you for this and for your oil temp reference. I'm wondering if the oil coolers are the same between the 6MTs and the automatic trucks? Furthermore are they installed the same? I look forward to hearing back from more 6MT owners on their temp readings.

Never monitored my MT. I’ve towed through Arizona when it was 100+ Degrees and my truck didn’t explode, including the climb from Phoenix to flagstaff.

I wouldn’t worry about it. I’m at 110k and about 15k of that is towing all over the country.

I got one but anywhere I can see the temp without dropping a skid? I think there should be oil lines near the front or at least a small radiator like line?

I measured trans temp in my AT out of curiosity when towing.

In my MT I figure it’s gonna run what it does and I don’t need to worry about it.

Yeah. I didn’t know anyone ever monitored that.

most people do IAT / coolant / trans / alt volts

I'd love to know what your temps are with the 6MT. Do you have a Bluetooth OBDII adapter? It would be great to see what oil temps these trucks are running. I suspect my oil temp sensor is defective or that my ECU was flashed by the previous owner although my truck runs like a stock one.

Yeah I’ve got one. What app are you using to monitor?
