the ONE key that came with it was messed up. The transponder was f’d up. A battery had exploded inside of it at some point.

One main key, spare at home in the junk drawer, one in a magnetic key box on the chassis. I mean it was not that much money (<$100) to get new keys made and program them myself.

People running 34s on stock gears, do you feel the need to regear or is the V8 enough to rotate them without transmission constantly changing gears? I’m stuck between 33x10.50r17 or 285/75r17.

    Thanks

the 460 is already sluggish with the stock sized tires, can’t imagine going up to 34’s. I’d probably stick with 33’s unless you plan to regear.

Can’t speak for the 460, but my 470 has 285/75/17 falkens and it handles them beautifully. Obviously lost some power, but nothing too noticeable and the truck never hunts for gears.

my 470 is sports car fast comepared to our 460...it’s literally night and day difference between the two.

The 460 IS much nicer with more room, better mpg, no timing belt bs, etc etc...so, it’s a trade off.

Same feedback as @Katchaser00 gx470 handles them great. If I ever decide to get a rear locker I will probably regear but the 470 has no problem power wise.

What’s crazy is the more I hear that, the less I actually want a 460. I don’t think I could live without the zip of the 470.

I mean the 460 isn’t slow....it’s just that the 470 is very much overpowered

I can’t wait to add long tubes and an exhaust to mine. It’s gonna be stupid.

What I really miss is the zip of the 5.7l 6-speed in the sequoia we had. Can’t wait to own a LC200

It honestly depends on the application, IMO. I'll probably buy a '10-13 460 as a DD next year. If I do, the 470 becomes the play project. I personally won't need the 460 to do anything other than transport my kiddos and drive me to and from clients while working. I'll put a set of AT's on it, maybe steps, floor mats and call it a day. IF I were looking for a daily that can get on the trail or in a back yard, I'd probably have considered the 460.

same here. Prob gonna get a 10/11 460 as a DD when my truck eventually sells. Mild lift, 33’s, and a roof rack is all it will get. Will be a kid hauler and tow rig.

I’ve already decided my 470 isn’t going to be a DD. It’ll just be my new money pit.

    Agree it’s pretty ugly.
