I want a better trans and more horsepower but they’ll probably shit out a hybrid that’s slower instead

My 987s with deleted cats and a tune is about the same Level as a base 911 of the same year. I love it. It’s 6 speed and I have numeric cables and the short shifter as well. I’ve put about $10k in aftermarket to get what I wanted.

They could do like Ford and just use a V8 sound through the stereo when you rev the engine. lol

A lot of fellas here would probably like it if they pumped the sound of a diesel through their speakers. They could even have a system that puts out a puff of fake smoke when you floor it.

Just a Snug Top with Sportsman’s package 1 inch lift and 265/75-16 Duratracs.
Yeah and probably half of that 10k was just the tune and exhaust. Aftermarket stuff isn’t cheap for Porsche but man, talk about reliable. All the Porsche sports cars are very reasonable all things considered. I tell people they’re like the Toyota of European cars, they’re never come in on tow trucks. I will say a 911 is always a 911 but frankly the Cayman drives better. Shoot, if someone wanted to get into track events I think the best bang for the buck out of any car out there would be a Boxster S 986. You really can’t beat that 3.2, 6 speed, big brakes and 18 inch wheels for 10k or so...just sucks it’s a convertible.

Anyways I’m just rambling, I guess this is a Toyota forum...

Mines the 3.4 with 19’s and yea $5k was tune and exhaust. I’ve had a few things go wrong that I’ve been able to fix myself that a shop quoted over $1k for so that makes me feel like a mechanic

@OvrlndBigAl its basically a Miata with better handling and about 100 more horsepower. I’ve also got about $2500 in tires so that probably helps. The Porsche has been on my radar since I was 5 years old so I will make the car I’ve always wanted out of it.

A TRD Pro trim level that has real upgrades ready to actually compete with the likes of the Ford Ranger Raptor.

Forced air option from the factory.

I bought my Taco understanding that this would be my last ICE vehicle. - And Last Manual Gearbox! :(
We'll be full EV from here on...

Rear discs seem to be a big issue for some. I would like to see discs in the rear - from an aesthetics perspective... but I am not too fuzzed about it... they seem work fine in this application. - Is there a particular rear brake performance issue being experienced by Taco owners?

    My wish list would be:
    - Full Electric. The Hybrid is tempting; but I prefer avoiding the complexity and weight of dual drive trains. - I'll be happy to avoid an ICE engine altogether!
We almost got a Tesla instead of the Taco. - but the camping / biking utility of the Taco won out in the end...
The above would address low end torque (even crawl) and overall power-curve issues.

    - Shorten the nose (front end) slightly... Only for aesthetics.

    - 5-1/2' foot bed option. Just to keep the length manageable. (I am fine with the 5' bed).

    - Maybe a some more built-in storage (in Bed lockable small 'trunk' - not as in the pointless trail edition... but maybe filling a gap in the underside?).

Maybe instead of screaming along at 6000rpm they’ll just make it shift to 11th gear at 40mph and avoid the problem all together.

    • Add a little power.
    • Fit 35's without major surgery.
    • Another inch taller in the roof, even with the sunroof I scrape here and there.
    • Put a seam in the front bumper, right at the spot every single after market bumper requires cutting.
    • Let me get all the options I want, without making everything else chrome.
    • Decent wireless Android support. Toyota nav is garbage, stop trying.
    • Power talegate lock.
    • Hood struts
    • More ways to pass electrical in and out of the cab.

Now here me out... "Meso Edition"
Let him go nuts styling/feature wise.
Maybe don't let him mess with the engine (to soon?)
