We enjoyed the day playing in the snow up in the Sierras near Pinecrest, CA. Great way to ring in a New Year!

Here are a few photos from a trip last week. Did the Mojave Road with some friends. Nothing technical by any means, but a ton of fun and I'd definitely recommend it.

We came across some folks that got their rental sprinter stuck in some sand. Pulled them out and they repeatedly got stuck, so I ended up just towing them out to the nearest road as it wasn't too far off from where they were. (considered airing them down, but they didn't have a compressor)

Was the Sprinter a 4x4 model? Great that you helped out people in desperate situation.

No, it was 2WD only. It was a turbo diesel though, which was cool. Unfortunately, 2WD combined with that weight, and it dug itself in to the sand surprisingly quick multiple times, even where I thought it would manage on its own. And thanks, but I would assume most people would do the same. That said, an FJ and 4Runner blazed by us during the recovery, not even slowing to check in. The pair that we pulled out also said someone else stopped by the day before and said they'd be back, but never did come back...

Approximately 3-4 miles, not too far at all.

Looks awesome. I’ve always wanted to do the whole trail in 2 nights/3 days. Would a 2.7L 2wd be ok?

It was fun indeed. We did it in 1 night /2 days, but the pace is up to you. I would say yes, but I'd definitely recommend you air down (so have a compressor to air up). As I mentioned with the sprinter getting stuck, there are a few sections with soft sand that would be your only potential worry. That said, if you know what you're doing and just maintain momentum when you get in to that type of terrain, I think you'll be fine. I did the majority of the trail in 2WD for fuel economy, and aired down to 15PSI.

Awesome thanks for the reply. I always air down anyways so I’m glad to hear it isn’t too bad.

Did a morning jaunt just to get out of the house and get a bit dusty. Pics from Doghouse Junction on the Otay Mountain Truck Trail. Easy day.

I took my one day old new 2021 TRD Sport out to Brown Canyon. I could have taken better photos but was more into checking out the manual transmission without the multi terrain select I had with my 2020 TRD OR. I like the manual transmission set up much better. Less than a 100 miles on the clock but I like the change to manual. I will will change tires and wheels like I have done with the past TRD ORs I've had.

Some excellent content in this thread, one of my favorite on this entire site!

Overland Flagstaff was out at Alstrom Point and Arches National Park over the New Year
