Nah.... just needs some different engineering. Like the addition of a riser to clamp the the forks higher up... or something similar. Overall, it’s a more challenging setup.

A buddy used to carry his bikes on the side like that and would just loosen the stem and rotate the bars 90 degrees, which isn’t too bad but would get old. My mt bikes have 800mm wide bars so I’m always thinking about catching them on things

Squareone, what do you think about running your side ride with a Max modular/Kbvoodoo bed rack?

the rack can sit on top of the side ride possibly? Double up the mounting hardware for the rack and the side ride? I would also lift the other legs of the rack the same height that the side ride lifted it.

The bedrack is exactly where the mounts need to be. But i think KB has bike mount accessories that work with that rack!

I own them but like yours. It would be nice to have the bike just a little lower when going through tight spots. I also have the cargomax on one side that prevents me from running their bike mount. Yours would fit underneath possibly. Looking through your posts to find pictures of how it mounts to each rail

It won’t work. You do have a very slick side ride bike mount.

thank you! I’m working on compatible accessories, so maybe in the future the setup you want will be possible!

I want to drill holes in my fiberglass snugtop and bolt these on externally. Will you make a set for this application?

I don’t have any plans for something like that, but if you don’t mind trimming your cap the standard mounts should work

Thanks for quick reply. The snugtop has such a long overhang... I'd feel better about drilling holes than cutting out chunks (in terms of keeping it dry inside). Thanks.

totally understandable! Unfortunately I don’t know the strength of a fiberglass type rack, and the weight of mounts plus a bike might be too much. I could potentially make one like that one day though!

I'd be your guinea pig. The first thing I did to my new cap was to drill 26 holes in it. Only the first one was hard. No leaks yet!

Hoping to gather some information from this group, might have to post in other sideride and/or softopper threads as well, but we will start here.

I am looking to get a bed rack that will go over my current softopper and still be able to use the sideride mounts. I believe @Unchained5150 had a older SOS concepts that worked, but they appear to have altered their design and it doesn't look like it would work any more. I've found quite a few images on the old google machine, but most appear custom and I am wondering if that is the route I will need to go. Since I have a long bed, I have considered using a short bed rack with the hopes of having the extra space near the cab for the sideride, but I don't really feel like dropping a thousand bucks only to find out it doesn't work.

Any and all info is great, thanks in advance.

so as long as there is 5" or so from the bedrack upright / forward most mounting support the SideRide should fit. I have my own Softopper Bedrack that I made out of 5052 aluminum designed to work with the SideRide and other mounts, but It's not ready for production yet unfortunately.
